• Seeing Nothing and Eve...
"We're going to find unity through completely stepping into our aloneness...
People open up; they see things; they experience things, and then later it says it's disappeared...In a certain sense, it's calling you to go with it. In other words, it's calling you to go into a very subtle quiet place. If you don't go, you start to feel like you've lost something because we relate to a certain experience as its obviousness, its power, its beauty-all of that. And unconsciously we think that's beautiful and that's how I know I'm in the truth and that's how I know-that's how I recognize it, right? But that's not necessarily what existence has in mind. In other words, it's extraordinarily intelligent. It knows exactly what to do to get your attention...
What most of us do is we stay right where we were, right where we are, and go 'oh my God! It's disappearing.' Did it ever occur that you could actually disappear with it-go into the subtlety, into the quietness, into the stillness because I can guarantee you everything you've ever realized is actually still completely present at this instant as much as it ever was...
The only thing that it wants-the only thing that's necessary is to let it all arise, all come up in the light of Consciousness...
That's what Consciousness does: what it touches, it frees. So when it really touches fear without us grasping and trying to hide, it frees the fear; it liberates the fear, you know. It's one of those unexpected parts of spirituality that people don't count on..."

About "Seeing Nothing and Everything (2011)":
In this talk, Adyashanti illustrates how our essential being is simultaneously a profound, silent “nothing” as well as everything within existence. He first guides us beyond the illusive, divided ego to our fundamental nothingness. He then explores the infinite potential of this nothingness and how it can be more fully manifested by our moving from this absolute presence.
Topics Include:
The Source of the Spiritual Impulse
Authentic Silence
Ego Is a Patterning
The Nothing that’s Everything
How Stillness Moves
Living the Truth
Posing Questions to Stillness
Fear Is a Waking Nightmare

Thanks for sharing This sounds very familiar to me ;). Good luck with facing «the monster» (the fear) which actually afterwards looks like a small rabbit... I'm french so this might not be very understandable but i understand totally and send you some love and support !

I wonder what Adya say today when he has experienced so much anxiety he needed medication?

I feel he addresses this in his talk about taking the medication... It doesn't seem different to his message here. I hear his compassion for the experience, suggesting to tune in with awareness with whatever action you take to address it... Ultimately the main message I hear is to Trust that whatever choice we take, it ultimately doesn't make us less spiritual. He is talking about the stories we make out of our experience being the cause for suffering, rather than the experience itself. As he described his anxiety it sounded more of a body experience rather than a story of fear so the medication helped his body calm down. He still wasn't get caught up in the nightmare story.... Just observing how his nervous system was overwhelmed, and thankfully the medication helped that to calm down. It has been so impactful for me to hear he is on medication as I have resisted it for many years and seen my chronic illnesses as being proof I am failing to learn my spiritual lessons. I still haven't quite integrated the fact that even with Adya's level of awakening that he hasn't transcended the suffering of being in a body. I realised I had an underlying belief that spiritual awakening would mean physical/mental/emotional healing. I am still not sure what it means but it feels both liberating and confusing to realise he has still experienced the need for external interventions with his health. Personally I am focussing on the compassion his journey inspires in me and the release of judgemental pressure on my own journey. We are all blossoming in our own unique way. 🙏✨🌻
