So grateful for your light in consciousness. I stumbled across your teachings in 2005 upon getting clean & sober "again". Celebrated 18 years this past January. Thank you!

Good no more strategies because ego is using it to shapeshifting “becoming “ more subtle indictable now calling it the awakened version. I am not implying that anyone is not aware but is quite tricky because any identification is no other than the ego. I love this talk ,thank you Ady because it is the perfect way of describing it as infinity shapeshifter.

Agreed - and in my experience it has a cunning and insatiable ability to make every practice/technique etc it’s own. I love Adya never shares anything the Ego can grab onto and attempt to own.

This excerpt can be condensed to "a knife cannot cut itself, an eye cannot see itself". Likewise, "I" cannot describe itself because it cannot witness itself as an object, it is the subject. It is only by ceasing the process that the subject knows itself by virtue of being; always there in plain sight.

How is the ego shapeshifting?
@sahamal_savu Жыл бұрын
If you pay close attention you'll notice that once the ego is identified in one form, it will promptly manifest in another form to avoid being "found out" or backed into a corner, like being checkmated as Adyashanti put it in this talk. In my personal experience I've noticed it will manifest in a more subtle way, presenting itself through a more deeply entrenched pattern that hasn't been as thoroughly investigated. The more you practice self inquiry the more you'll begin to see that the ego is merely a psychological process, albeit a persistent one that will present in many different forms to attempt to keep you entranced, so to speak.

hey mate that mating movement wants to check mate or to not be check mated?
@ThePokerCats Жыл бұрын
It thinks it can do the check mating but deep down it KNOWS it can’t and that it’s the one who can be check mated. And as Adya said, it’s the last thing it wants to admit because it’s game over once it does. Its helpful to remember that this whole thing is very paradoxical. On the one hand, the Ego is an illusion - it’s not real. But, on the other hand, it has a relative truth to it because it’s a creation of the mind and nothing is separate. Yet, like he says, while it feels solid/real because of the emotional energy wrapped up in it, we can never find it because ultimately, it doesn’t exist. Hence, the paradox.

The ego sees everyone as an enemy. It is this judgment that maintains the sense of individuality the ego needs to keep its special specialness. It fears anything or anyone that would seem to question its carefully constructed separate image. The ego is fearful. But the ego is not our identity. Our true identity is the self created by Love and held eternally one with Love. The ego - mind, suspicious at best and vicious at worst. The ego mind - the greatest "con - artist" of all! Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the Peace of God 🙏 Love and Light 💛
