Bax 60 they’re not using the test to get convictions. They use the test to decide what to do in that moment. Most of the time, they aren’t admissible. If a cop wants you to take one, take it or you’ll probably get arrested regardless. They don’t need the breathalyzer or the field sobriety test to arrest you for dui.

I haven't had a drink since January of 1989. In 2015 a local police officer stopped me and said I had a taillight out. I didn't. He then asked me how much I'd had to drink. I said I had nothing but water. He then asked me to take a field sobriety test. I refused and told him lets just do the breathalyzer He called for backup. Trooper shows up and asks me why I'm not cooperating. I told him why the officer stopped me. He checked my taillights and found nothing wrong. He then let me do the field breathalyzer and found id had nothing to drink. He then looked at the local police officer and said Maybe you should be the one taking the sobriety test. The trooper then sent me on my way

I just wanted to share my little story: it was about 30 degrees out and the highway patrol that administered my field sobriety test had mercy on the fact that my legs were quivering and shaking from the temperature. I aced every part, but stumbled slightly when doing the step and turn. Highway patrol said I should have a friend come pick me up, but I’m otherwise coherent. so I hop back in my car, the highway patrol leaves and then the county cop who had pulled me slaps me in cuffs for reckless driving 😂 the biggest twist is while I’m cuffed in the back they’re driving 93 in a 45 towards the jail. “Reckless driving” lol

I mean no matter how sober I am I couldn’t pass those test. I try to stand on one foot and fall almost immediately I try to do the heal to toe walking and can’t keep my balance. I’ve tried flat out sober and couldn’t. I did better after a couple drinks when I tried it (I never drive after drinking and don’t drive right now anyway) then I did sober.
