Very interesting! I was a practing Oriental Meditation, and someone tolld me that the first Christians had contemplative practicies very like Oriental Meditation, and by reading the Philokalia i became a Christian!!! Many thanks to the Saints that made this work avaiable to us all!!!

Christianity has an amazing history of contemplative practices, it's just that nobody alive in the west today even knows their own history! See also the Sayings of the Desert Fathers❤️☦️

@@Joeonline26 Very so , Peace and Grace be with us all in the Lord, I am reading the Azusa Street Papers it is fascinating that what thei call "Waiting Before the Lord" it is as the "Guarding of the Hearth" of the Desert Hermits it is impressive how litle do we know of what it is to be a Christian, good videos like this one help to see things in perpective

As a Catholic I can say that I really wished we had a man like this, at the head of our Church.

We Catholics have. You just haven't 'met' him yet...... You can't know the people you haven't met nor can you judge them.

Some of us do. Those of us who are blessed to be Ukrainian Greek Catholics have a saintly, wise, fatherly Major Archbishop (we consider him our Patriarch, and hoping that now because of the war His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk will be officially declared Patriarch by the Universal Pontiff).

I don't remember where I read it but the comment went something like this, "The Romans live in a world of right angles and the Greek lives in a world of spirals."

Praying without ceasing is not continuous prayer....it means never giving up in prayer but praying and having a readiness to prayer.
@henrygarcia63813 жыл бұрын
Disagree. Your nous will pray for you at some point in your journey. This is why you will 'never be ceasing in prayer'. It's not metaphorical.
