Ok so I have this exact unit. And when the door is closed and alarm is set to “on” the strobe will blink once every couple of seconds... why?

How loud is the alarm?

The cabinet alarm is rated at 120 decibels. For comparison, a rock band or a jackhammer is rated at 110 decibels.

AED Superstore Great!! How long will the alarm sound before turning off? Will it go off so long as the door is open?

The alarm can be configured to operate in several different ways: 1. Alarm sounds when the door is opened, silences when the door is closed (default configuration). 2. Alarm sounds when the door is opened, silences only by using the key switch function. 3. Alarm sounds for 30 seconds when the door is opened. 4. Alarm sounds for three minutes when the door is opened. Our cabinets are shipped with the alarm set in the default configuration (#1).

What if there was an emergency and the AED batteries went dead after it charged ready to shock. How do you replace the batteries quickly on the AED in an emergency?

You won't need to. The AED is programmed to change from green check mark to a red X when batteries are at approximately 50%. At that point if the AED is inspected monthly as it should, the batteries would be changed.

But I heard that there was an emergency where an AED was used and the unit failed after it said"Press Red Button to shock" and then the unit died. How did the First Responders know how to replace the batteries in an emergency under stress? Someone ran to get the batteries.

Depending which unit/brand it was I'm not sure. Unfortunately we are dealing with machines here and sometimes they fail. I've only seen a failure once out of the 900+ units we deal with and it due to improper storage( it was pool side, very humid).
