Comparison of the HeartSine® samaritan® 360P and the LIFEPAK® CR2 WiFi Defibrillators (AEDs), by SafetyQuip Australia Director, Tim Lewis. Delivery Australia-wide: www.safetyquip.com.au/store-l...
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) can happen to anyone-anywhere. Immediate treatment is vital. A victim’s chance of survival dramatically decreases for every minute without treatment. That’s why public access defibrillators are so important. They put lifesaving technology where it can do the most good. So when an emergency happens, you should have nothing less than the best.
LIFEPAK® CR2 WiFi Fully-Automatic Defibrillator (AED)

So the heartsine not good? I want a unit for the home

The Heartsine is a good basic unit, and well priced. The LifePak CR2 WiFi unit is easier to use and has a bunch of nifty features though - if the budget permits… great too if you have kids in the house. Whichever you purchase, be sure to regularly run through how to use the AED with people regularly in the house. All the best.

ZOLL AED Plus is clearly the best. More than 50% of the time only CPR is required. At this point all other AED's are just a shock-in-the-box and are almost completely useless. Only ZOLL helps you with CPR. ==== 1. The one piece CPR-D Padz provide real-time CPR feedback on the rate and depth of chest compressions 2. Uses Duracell 123a lithium batteries with a 5-year battery life (not custom made batteries) 3. The pads have a 5-year life 4. Automatic self-testing 5. 7-year warranty with online registration 6. Audio prompts and visual icons 7. The top section of the AED is actually a device that places the head in proper position for CPR

Heartsine AEDs pre charge the capacitor giving them a 12 second shock time from the time they’re powered on. The CR2 has a 45 second shock time. This means the Heartsine can shock the patient in 12 seconds but the fastes the CR2 can shock someone is 45 seconds. (Zoll has a 3min 30 second shock time). Heartsine aeds are half the price of the CR2 so you could have 2 aeds for the price of one. Most importantly is the CR2 has no visual indicators for what the next step is. That means a deaf person will not have any idea when to clear to analyze and shock. That’s the biggest downside to the CR2. Both aeds work but the Heartsine is cheaper, faster, and more user friendly then any other AED on the market.

The most critical time measure is ready to shock after CPR i.e. 12s for 500p, 19s for 360p, 8s for 350p,

I believe the HeartSine Samaritan 500P also informs the person doing CPR on whether to massage faster or deeper. It also has visual icons and an 8-year warranty. The 350/360P cannot compete with the Zoll AED Plus, but the 500P definitely gives it a run for its money. The Zoll AED Plus is a lot cheaper than the 500P though, so yeah, you're probably right about it being the best AED on the market

@@ri10q44 Thank you for the information. I did not know that the Samaritan actually gave real compression information. The are still a few issues to consider. 1. Custom batteries - This will be an issue in the future. 2. No device for positioning the patient's head for CPR 3. 2 pads rather than Zoll's 1-piece CPR-D padz - easy & fast

ZOLL AED plus is clearly not the best AED. I can tell you why. 1. zoll says their cpr d padz are “supposedly” the easiest to place on the victim's body. Practice has shown that many people could not correctly place the CPR D PADZ on the victim's body because the design of the pads is confusing. The CPR D Padz have a 5 year expiration, that’s correct, but if the AED is used very often within those 5 years, the costs are very expensive. 2. The ZOLL AED plus can only deliver up to 150 joules energy, 150 joule is its maximum. Which makes the AED not suitable for every type of patients. 150 joules have barely no effect on larger patients, larger patients need a higher energy shock to be successful in restarting the heart. 3. It carry’s out selftests, but it doesn’t test the pads for function, Which is very important. The best AED is the lifepak CR2 It delivers up to 360 joules energy, which makes the AED suitable for everyone. The selftest tests every components of the AED, and also the pads for functioning. The readiness of the AED can be monitored remotely via your computer or phone because the AED is connected to the lifelinkcentral management app. If the AED ever fails a selftest, or if it’s being used on a patient, or if the AED is removed from its place, you’re immediately alerted via sms. It has clearvoice technology, which adjusts the volume of the AED to the surrounding noises. So you can always hear the AED. It has cprINSIGHT analysis technology which analyses the patients heart rhythm while doing CPR. It can determine if a shock is needed while doing CPR. So faster shock delivery.
