What a great interview with James Garner, Lauren Bacall, Glenda Jackson, and Carol Burnett. Dinah Shore did such a great interview. All of them-so very talented.

I was on the beach when they did this. Commented before, I was an extra on Health. I was 18 or 19. (60 now) It’s so interesting to hear Carol Burnett mention being “in the pool all morning” as I was there for all those scenes as well. Not as an extra those days but just observing. She’d do the lines w Garner, dive into the pool, they’d cut, get her out dry her off and do it all again maybe a half dozen times or something. It was fascinating to see how movies were made.

Yeah. She seemed to just casually drop a thunderbolt of intellect, thoughtfulness and compassion wrapped into a bundle into interviews. That's on top of - and complimenting - her skill, depth and richness as an actor and politician.

What a great talk show for the 1980 movie HealtH. Carol Burnett is humorous, Glenda Jackson, practical, James Garner, whimsical, and Lauren Bacall intricately thorough, while Dinah Shore just blends into the conversation, as well as interviews very well.

Having James Garner on her show, then basically ignoring him was a waste of his time. He sat and said almost nothing. Listening to him would have been much more interesting, and more worthy of his time and talent. Missed opportunity!

Can you imagine if there had been a male presenter with two male guests and one female guest and the female was ignored? People would call it sexist, misogynistic, blah, blah, blah...
