Mancini was a genius, and who better to sing his songs than Patti Page. Thanks for posting this.

I've always liked this song, mainly because I love the film, but I never really knew how beautiful this song was until hearing Patti Page sing it.

No, she never did. Supposedly she was originally offered "Moon River" and turned it down, though she later recorded it on an album after it had already become a hit.

"The Great Race" (Jul. 1, 1965), face by Natalie Wood, but the voice was Jackie (aka Robin, her daughter's name as she also used for credit in her "Wonderful Summer", #14 hit in Nov. 1963) Ward.

The way Patti Page sings it w more Heart & Delight i like! way better than Natalie wood's version of this song.
@EJSmith-dk3yg4 жыл бұрын
She slowed the song down and shortened it. I adore Patti Page, and wish she had recorded the full version, but I do like the song in the film. Unfortunately the talented Natalie Wood did not sing that, version which is sad because she had a nice voice in her own right, Jackie Ward was the singer in the movie.

Natalie Wood was just the face. It wasn't her voice.
