Aena | Tips for Passing the Security checkpoints at an Airport

All passengers who access boarding areas must pass through a security checkpoint, so that banned items are prevented from entering secure passenger-only zones and going on board aircraft. Passengers will therefore have to pass through a metal detector while their hand luggage and any other items they are carrying with them (coats, jackets, mobiles, keys) will be put through an X-ray scanner. Passengers may also be subject to additional manual and other inspections, with explosives trace detectors and explosive liquid detectors.
Consult the information on banned items in hand luggage and checked-in luggage. If you arrive at the security checkpoint with a banned item in your hand luggage, you will not be able to take it through with you. You will have to either give it to the person seeing you off at the airport, check it in as hold luggage or leave it in one of the containers located at the security checkpoint (items deposited in these containers are treated as waste and cannot be given back to passengers).
For passenger security reasons, passengers should not check in or transport luggage for stranger.
Passengers will be asked for their boarding pass before they go through the security checkpoint.
To ensure items and small articles in particular pass through the scan, passengers must place them in the special trays put at their disposal.
Passengers must:
1. Take off their jacket and/or overcoat and put them in the tray. Such items have to be examined separately while passengers are being inspected.
2. Take their laptop computer or any other large electrical item out of its case and place it in the tray so that it can be inspected separately from its case and the other hand luggage at the security checkpoints.
3. Passengers are also advised to remove their belts before passing through the metal-detector arch.
