Looks pretty solid in terms of upgrades while keeping consistent style. My v1 sling has held up so well that I can't quite justify replacing it anytime soon.

True, honestly the whole form factor I still prefer the v1. But the strap and buckle on the v2 are such a nice upgrade.
@shiveringisles3509 Жыл бұрын
@@shersurewin ACS3 should improve on these, keep the smooth strap, use a slimmer Duraflex buckle or give us options for customizations, put the buckle at the side of the bag instead of center so it is safer and doesn't dig into your back. The boxy shape and 2.5L volume is somewhat close to DS3 too and would have preferred a smaller volume, maybe an Aer fanny pack/sling lol, I want it to look cleaner (less dangling straps, less buckles/keepers).

Just looking at my personal Aer City Sling v1, I noticed that my front zipper does have a zipper garage similar to the one found in v2. I wonder if Aer just quietly updated its sling bag. Thanks for uploading these reviews so quickly, I love your content!

Yeah same here I feel I got a 1.5 version

Same mine also has the zipper Garage

Same here man! Mine also has the zipper pull as well, i bet they were doing some supply chain transitions before the full new model

I can also confirm that my V1 has the zipper garage and pull. This review should have been done with a newer iteration of the bag. V2 does look better with the strap, on my V1 they are always getting in the way. 👍🏻

Same on my V1! Personally I like the size on the v1 any bigger would be too much for me.

just put an order on a V2 X-Pac version! Super excited to get one and I love that you already have videos up on it, gonna check out the full review of it next!

Just got my V2 and noticed that it might not fit as a fanny pack if you wanted too, since there is a certain limit on the straps length. Meaning if you happen to have a smaller waist line. Second the magnetic lock has small thin parts that might easily break or snap since it is made of plastic as compared with the bulky lock of V1. But still I’m happy with the City Sling V2 X-Pac. :)

I wanted to buy the version 1 a few days ago but they were sold out. Found out the version 2 came out today and just bought it. Really excited about the improvements.

Wish I could upgrade the hardware on my V1, unfortunate they changed the strap width

Can't decide yet which one to buy. City sling or City sling 2 ? More interested in City sling than 2 because it is smaller and compact. Love the city sling 2 only because of the magnetic fidlock and slim straps

I cannot seem to find any specifications on the waist band circumference, does this sling also have the ability to work as a hip pack?

The only things that had been holding me back from getting the v1 was that it was just slightly too small but more importantly that big honking strap/buckle combo was a no-go. Super stoked to see both issues have been addressed! I finally ordered one in x-pac last night right after watching this, I'm so excited! It's funny because I got an email from aer this morning letting me know that it was in stock in x-pac and that v1 was discontinued lol thanks for the early heads up, Pack Hacker :)

Ugh, why did they have to make the v2 bigger. Only having one water resistant zipper is pretty cheesy considering the main pocket isn't protected.
@shiveringisles3509 Жыл бұрын
I don't understand the 'AquaGuard the key compartment' logic either but at least xpac version AquaGuards both. 2.4 to 2.5L seems minuscule but it does make v2 bulky a lot and still smaller than Day Sling 3 at 3L because of the shape. They are also so close in volume that they kinda steal each other's market no?

V1’s strap rubbed against my neck a lot. Did you have any problems with strap rubbing against your neck using V2?

Hey Brian! We didn't have a problem with rubbing but everyone is built differently! Thanks for the comment! - Austin

I was just about to go on the website and buy their aer city sling and then I saw all the updates and I got really disappointed. I have no trust in magnet clips in any way. Glue never holds magnets in place, to many times have I been burned. Sadly I won't be buying this bag now. 😔

Kind of overpriced for what it is. The materials used are really overkill.

Apparently you are not familiar with the brand. Aer uses this fabric in all of their products
