Good work. I was lucky today. Got my hands on an mint condition advance acoustic map-305 for 90€ from a friend. So now i can test my dm4 fully.

My Dad was a cabinet maker and he used to remove scratches in veneers by wetting that area and the veneer would puff up and almost disappear. Try that Matt, it does work but not all of the time.

@@angeloluis4130 Yeah I've tried that before but doesn't often do anything I find on hardwood veneers

Another great job. The make do and mend philosophy is brilliant, just too much of this check away and buy some expensive speakers, can’t beat that smile os satisfaction, particularly when the speakers mean something to you.

it would be nice to some whys and why do you heat the tweeter before painting? what oils do you use on the wood?

@@andrewpetley7008 work shop isn't the warmest place so I gently warm the metal so there's no condensation. I tend to use Danish oil but used a hard wax in these.

Do you find those self adhesive damping pads stay stuck or do you staple them too?

Would a sanding sealer help with the blothes? It helps when I use polyurethane on hardwood floors. Just asking because I don't know regarding wax. Great work by the way. They're beautiful!
@haycrossaudio54748 күн бұрын
@@davidjudd951 I just needed to sand them a little further. There was a bit of moisture discoloured on the bottom though. Sometimes I'll slightly colour the whole cabinet to hide it 🤩

What grit paper do you use for sanding the veneer?
@haycrossaudio547411 күн бұрын
@@eelcodebode6743 I try and use 240 grit and finish with 400 grit. If the veneer is really bad I start with 120 grit
