The remnants of Geauga Lake / Six Flags Worlds of Adventure offer only a shadow of what was once a treasured amusement park in Aurora, Ohio. We've attempted to find the approximate locations of some of the more popular rides. This part of the park closed in 2007.

Oh the feeling you used to have as a kid riding up that long road just waiting to see the tip of the Needle in the air to know that you were minutes away from amusement bliss... Glad I was able to experience this treasure many times growing up as a kid in NE Ohio.

Same. I remember there being an 8 mile line from Streetsboro to Geauga Lake after the water park section and The Wave opened up (circa 1984). My friends and I rode in the back of my dad's pickup truck the whole way there, lol. Sad to see the place of so many childhood memories disappear.

Crazy sad. Such good times growing up. Hopefully it can be restored to its former glory one day. Thanks for sharing

I can happily claim i was among the last paying customers on the final day this park was open. Watching this and remembering it is like that "ouch" moment at the end of ET when he's saying goodbye to Elliot. The sight and sound of Raging Wolf Bobbs I'll miss the most...thanks brother. We'll ride it in heaven again one day ❤

That’s insane. My family used to take my brother, my cousin, and I to Geauga Lake and Sea World every summer when I was a little kid. It’s nuts to just see everything gone.

It's so sad I was only able to visit this park once as a kid on a family trip to Ohio. I visited Cedar Point in the same trip and loved Geagua Lake so much more.

Great way of showing where the rides used to be because I could barely even recognize the land

This breaks my heart. The first memory I have is when I was about 8 and I was with my aunt in the old wave pool. Then she took us over to get Wave shirts and I remember them making them right in front of us. I will never forgive Six Flags or destroying one of my child hood memories. Cedar Point is also to blame.

I had season passes for many years in the 90's and 2000's. I've seen a lot of drone footage of what used to be Geauga Lake, none have made me tear up like this did. I could almost feel myself walking by Texas Twister on my way to Raging Wolf Bob coaster. We used to call it raging headache - the wooden coaster would bang your head around so hard. But we kept going back! The nostalgia is heavy!

So many happy memories here, but so sad to see it become a defunct park site just sitting there. 😢

Used to come here every year on trips with my grandmother bc her sister lived near by in Lorain. Late 80s and 90s. I do remember that beautiful dock. Used to be able to take a ferry across to sea world right? Could be me but those seemed like happier times back then.

The little girl in me is so sad because my mom's company would have their picnics at GL every summer and it was a blast. I enjoyed this park from the mid 80's (was born in 81) until the 2000's and I was hoping to bring my kids here. Sadly, I had children after the closing of GL (2011 & 2015). My first coaster was the Beast Jr. at King's Island when I was five, but the first time I ever rode in the front seat of any rollercoaster was the Double Loop at the age of eight. Best experience of my young life and forever after it was front seat of every rollercoaster except for Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. My favorite coaster will always be The Big Dipper, loved that thing, but the best part was unlike Cedar Point I could ride every ride at least once throughout one day trip and go to the water park and enjoy Sea World. Geagua Lake was better than Cedar Point in that way and when I got older my mom told me where she would be at and I would run all over the park and check in with her from time to time. Now, I take my kids to Waldamere in Erie, PA because it's like a mini Geagua Lake and my boys are not ready for Cedar Point, plus, if I wanted to enjoy the entire park I would have to stay for two days. We are planning for King's Island instead maybe in 2023. I hope someone does buy the land to put another amusement park there, people will go. Also, since Cedar Fair probably still owns it, why didn't they take the old rides like Wild Cat and Disaster Transport and other rides they needed to get rid of and place it in Geagua Lake property and call it Olde Cedar Point or Blasts from the Past amusement park? People will still ride those rides. Just upset that my favorite amusement park died.

My childhood. I was only 10 years old when it closed in 2007. My parents took me there when I was young we drove down that rode and always past by Superman and Xflight. Big Dipper was the first coaster I ever rode on. Now once in a while I drive past by there to visit my childhood and wave.

Xflight was pretty awesome. I remember on the lift hill you faced the sky and then it twisted around toward the ground when you reached the top! Great memories. -John

The Trees and Foliage are so beautiful from this arial view, all the colors make up for the loss of human fun when nature takes over once again we must remember to be grateful for its beauty.

When me and my family moved here in 2007 we were going to make a trip to Geauga Lake, but sadly it closed a few weeks after we got everything organized. Luckily, my dad went there when he was a kid in the 70s

So far it seems like the development is happening on the former SeaWorld parking lot and a wooded parcel. The entire property is for sale and multiple proposals have fallen through in recent years.

great. More condos. What a disaster. This was always the highlight to summer and we got season passes when we were old enough to drive. I'd love to know what happened to the management that ran this into the ground.

With the news of part of Seaworld getting purchased and reimagined by the city, I'm wondering if more plans have been made to purchase most of the old Geauga Lake land and bring it back to its old glory. There are rumors that Cotaland in Texas is a dead project. I know a good place for all those coasters to go to..

I seem to recall the location that the video points to as the Double Loop was instead the log ride. The DL was a little further back and to the left.
