Aerial Jet Shoot with THREE T-33 'Ace Makers’

Come flying with me in America’s first jet trainer the T-33 Shooting Star. Owner & pilot Gregory “Wired” Colyer owns 3 and calls them the Ace Makers. It may be over 7 decades old now, but the military still has use for the aircraft which was originally developed by Lockheed’s legendary Skunk Works, with both the Air Force & Navy contracting Colyer & his fleet as an instructor supporting training at Edwards AFB Test Pilot School & Patuxent River Navy TPS, as well as supporting Air Test & Evaluation Squadron VX-23. He also flies them at air shows around the country each year, wearing the colors of the 51st Fighter Group from the Korean War.

I loved that little hot rod of a plane. In 1972-73 I was stationed at Cannon AFB with the F-111's. Our squadron Commander got flight time in each month in a T-33. We only had one and I loved working on it. It was simple and easy maintenance. If I remember correctly, just four bolts and you had the tail fuselage seperated. 👍 Edit: Now after watching the video I've got to give you props for keeping it together going vertical and inverted getting those great shots. Love these stories, thanks for your service. I hope to produce a book one day with such stories to go with my photography - educating & inspiring & keeping the history alive. I’ve flown lots of warbirds over the years but there’s something special about the T-33, it played such a major role for so many decades. Thx for watching

@@MikeKillian I was stationed @ HAFB, 15th ABW Hawaii in late 70's - 80. I was a life support specialist and we had several of these that flew target for Hawaii ANG. I was offered "observer" status and anytime a pilot couldn't make a flight due to illness or other duty, I was able to take his place. It was F fantastic. The pilots were cool and always let me strap in up front.
