Come flying with me in America’s first jet trainer the T-33 Shooting Star. Owner & pilot Gregory “Wired” Colyer owns 3 and calls them the Ace Makers. It may be over 7 decades old now, but the military still has use for the aircraft which was originally developed by Lockheed’s legendary Skunk Works, with both the Air Force & Navy contracting Colyer & his fleet as an instructor supporting training at Edwards AFB Test Pilot School & Patuxent River Navy TPS, as well as supporting Air Test & Evaluation Squadron VX-23. He also flies them at air shows around the country each year, wearing the colors of the 51st Fighter Group from the Korean War.
The aircraft has a storied history which you can read about in my story in Warbird Digest Magazine here - warbirddigest....
This video is from a photo / video shoot we flew with all 3 of Colyer’s jets together over Lake Berryessa is central California.
