Thank you for sharing this. Wonderful footage and soundtrack. My family lived there from 1974-76 when I was age 4-5 years, as my dad was on the USS Canopus. It’s very interesting to spot the places I have early memories of - and to see the cottage we lived in is still there, as it was 100 years old at that time. I live in Australia now but hope to revisit Kirn, Dunoon and Scotland one day.

I was stationed on the USS Canopus in 73-75 small boats and have never felt the same since I left...great grandfather was McNeill of Barra...felt a strange connection inside to my soul when I first arrived to my ship and an intense loss as I left headed back to the US...now every time I see something of Scotland, I yearn to return back to her...thank you

I was stationed on the USS CANOPUS in 70-71. I absolutely loved it there. Warm and friendly people. Beautiful scenery and very pretty girls!

I was brought up on Kirn Brae, my childhood spent playing on the shore and pier. Could see my parents house and the car parked in the garden, which meant they where “in”. Mum no longer here, but at peace on the high road. Hope both our Mums are at peace 🙏
