I live and Lake Charles, and this video doesn't even give justice to how bad the devastation is. Everywhere you look is destroyed buildings/houses and fallen trees/telephone poles

Don't live anywhere near a fault line to avoid an earthquake. Don't live near a water body to avoid flooding or a tsunami. Don't live near mountains to avoid avalanches. Don't live near hills to avoid mudslides. Don't live in tornado alley. Don't live in wooded areas to avoid wildfires. Don't live near a volcano is about the only reasonable thing to say.

You have to live in a cave to be 100% safe. Even brand new brick homes with all the latest structure requirements had entire roofs flipped off like a can of Pringles.

@@yaryar1976 Of course living in a cave provide a shelter from many natural occurings, but we have the engineering solutions to live in hazardous provinces. Making houses out of wood certainly won't help you keep your whole house in the first place, especially, if you see huge - deep route trees swing like toys in storm would discourage you to build wooden houses. The only thing that would come out from your house if you made out of concrete, like you said, would be roof not the house itself.
