Dog Interaction: the Video
One of my favorite arrangements to play from all Final Fantasy Piano Collections! In my excitement over having nicely sounding mics, I ended up recording a whole bunch of stuff I've been playing for a long time. I think I'll re-record the FF7 Main Theme as well! I feel like, at this point, it's almost entirely for my own benefit because I like looping my own recordings as I work as well LOL
There are a few minor stumbles in this one, but the dog interactions were too funny not to keep. I was recording around his walk time, hence his begging for attention. (Also disclaimer for the ending just in case: dogs usually don't love being kissed on the nose, it makes them uncomfortable if your face is too close! Mine is pretty used to it and patiently tolerates my nonsense.)

Beautiful playing on a beautiful piano. True story: many years ago in the early 2000s when I was a teenager, I played “To Zanarkand” (the theme of FF10) on a piano at a local music shop. The sales employee, an elderly gentleman with glasses, came over and said, “What a beautiful piece. May I ask what is it?” I replied, “It’s from Final Fantasy, a video game.” He then smirked and walked away, giving me the impression that any music from a video game is no Chopin or Rachmaninov. Fast forward to 2024, I’m happy that more people have recognized and accepted the beauty of video game music. The piano collections to the Final Fantasy series is and has always been classics in my book. Long after we are gone from this world, I’m sure future generations will continue to play and be inspired by the music of Final Fantasy, and in this case, Aerith’s Theme, which is one of the most beautiful pieces ever written. Thank you for the video.

I'm feeling so nostalgic listening to this. I remember playing FF7 when I was a kid. This really takes me back to those good old days. Your dog seems like he was quite enjoying it too. So funny hahaha.

So beautiful! Thank you for covering one of my favorite themes. Your piano playing will always be one of my favorites, and it's really been one of those small things I can smile about nowadays.
