Salúdos desde Colombia. Tengo en mi haber mas de diez mil horas en Aerocommander series. cerca de dos mil horas en turbo Commander 690. Es un avión que quiero con el alma.

@mayagos08 That is wonderful to hear. I like this aircraft aswell. I never get the chance to fly in one.

My father had this exact plane when I was a kid so I have a deep fondness for the Aero Commander. Logged many hours in it. 🤘

When modified, these are a magnificent plane. Extremely comfortable, very stable IFR platform. When a new panel and the eyebrow STC are applied, they are hard to beat for certain missions. Their only real maintenance issues are hydraulic leaks from the main gear and the routine problems with Lycoming engines.

And don't forget to find one with A/C. That's why the pilot was sitting on the apron with the door and vent window open. Obviously an "islands location". Not the fastest, but certainly one of the most comfortable.

In 1972 I flew cargo in a 500 (Gulfpord-Meridian-Hattiesburg-New Orleans) as a part time 'extra job' while in the Air Force.

I will like to take a flight on this Aircraft. Do you still fly as a pilot.

Beautiful aircraft. The 500B that I flew in '69 did not have pilot door, winglets, cool paint, or pointed nose. I flew a mail run from Arcata, California to SFO carrying 2000# of mail to and from the Eureka area 6 nights a week.

Thanks for sharing your story about the 500B.Do you still fly as a pilot.

Looks like the aircraft wasn't "secure" (brakes weren't on) when he started the left engine? Lovely aeroplane though, Rockwell/Commander/et al range of aircraft always seems quite special to me. Thanks for sharing 👍😊✌️
@krystalviewaviation32452 жыл бұрын
No it was not secure. I guess after he shut down did not engage the brakes.

I really appreciate you leaving your comment.it have video of landing on the channel. These islands are call the British Virgin Islands. Nature's little secret.
@manuelvillamil9809 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Just watched that Islander practicing touch and goes and confirmed my concerns.. with that mountain at the end of the runway, and crosswinds, it is not easy… That nature’s little secret can be a pilot’s nightmare! Great videos!
@krystalviewaviation3245 Жыл бұрын
Yes there is a strong crosswind coming across the runaway. Most of the pilot practise touch down for before landing day on their own.

There is a Turbo Commander, based on the larger 680 version, powered by Garret/Honneywell TPE331 turboprop engines.

Very nice video except 1 major thing: that flashing star thing at the beginning was extremely annoying. If you would eliminate that this video would be almost flawless.
