ive seen an etec make marks on a hill next to a turbo cat so i believe skidoo did something right with this etec.

Anyone wondering on engine life it all depends on how much boost you are running in the engine I own a 2011 etech and have talked to some of the best people in the busniess on turbos and if your running 3-4 psi on pump gas your engine should last for quite awhile about 1000km befor having to do pistons and rings your crank will make it to 6000km befor having to drop a new crank in and for mountain riding 7psi I believe it is you run half pump half av gas and you will be at about 215hp
