Nice video. Just as you did with Iceberg lettuce, I experience color varations when growing Oak Leaf lettuce. I use MaxiGro too.

I'm battling with white flies, aphids and now also, thrips have moved to my 4 Aero Gardens. I have three bottles of pesticide garden spray and I just used up one and a half bottles. I have to spray everyday because new eggs hatch and I cut off many leaves and stems and trash them. It's so much easier to grow outside where if there is an infestation, you can hose them off after spraying. Granted, it's time to clean up one of the small units, since it's so dirty. I also have a Farm 24 growing mega cherry tomatoes on one side and mini poblanos on the other side and they both have been in there over 220 days and are still producing. But especially the pepper plant is struggling because of the new infestation of thrips. 🤔

How is the crunch of the lettuce... As I find hydroponic lettuces very soft instead? However, I've only ever grown loose-leaf and romaine lettuces.

It is crunchy. Not as crunchy as the store bought one, but it is crunchy enough.

I’ve heard pointing a clip on fan at the lettuce can thicken it up so it’s crunchier. They claim the movement grows thicker leaves

You do you but if I am going to take my time, energy, resources to grow something, it is going to be food with nutrition.... Iceberg Lettuce is only water... no nutrition at all!! But if you want water to eat then like I said, you do you.😊 I enjoy your videos ❤ P.S... I prefer growing my lettuce, spinach, Kale, & Swiss Chard oiutside rt now in cooler weather(Zone7B), for an abundant crop I will have through the winter into Feb. When temperatures drop below freezing I just cover my raised garden beds with a heavy plastic tablecloth & anchor them down on the edges to protect from wind & harsh weather.
