Really cool set up! I think I'd like to do something similar. I've been also wanting to regrow green onions and romaine lettuce!
@BackToBasics0019 жыл бұрын
Rob Langholff Well, so far they are both doing well. I placed a 1 inch high buttercrunch lettuce sprout (started from seed) into the unit today. We'll see if it responds faster than the DWC. Thanks for dropping by!

Is there stagnant water in the legs of the manifold?
@danieleelena68556 жыл бұрын
hello I would like to make a similar system, I can know the sizes of the tubes (they are 20mm)

Is Bazil edible? I’ve only had Basil and it’s delicious.

Would you be able to give specifics of the size of the PVC and where you got the nozzles and pump please? I really want to try this, it's very impressive 🙂

Nice video! Do you think an aeroponic system like this could replace the need for a DWC setup?
@BackToBasics0017 жыл бұрын
Sure! You may even get better yields. Just be aware that if you live in an area that is prone to power outages you run the risk of something going wrong quickly. A few hours of no air pumping into your DWC won't affect the plants too much as your roots are still sitting in water, but hours of no spraying your plants with aeroponics could be quite stressful or even fatal to some plants.

Dimension blue print at all? Maybe list of products from home depot? i have interested in this

Hi, I was wondering how the pump mates w/ the threaded / or unthreaded fitting that supplies your manifold ? thanks
@BackToBasics0019 жыл бұрын
Kevin Padd The pump I have had a 3/4 inch threaded fitting. I just went to Home Depot and from a threaded female connector to pipe fitting for a couple of dollars.

hey mate goog job there i was just woundering what nutrients did u used in ur machines??
@BackToBasics0015 жыл бұрын
Hello Ashvin, I use both liquid and dry nutrients. I've used General Hydroponics liquid, but find that DNC works very well and is less expensive (and available locally for me). I use Maxigrow and Maxibloom dry powder too. They all work well if you follow the directions.

Thanks for the video, do you have a timer set for the water pump?
@BackToBasics0016 жыл бұрын
No, I don't use a timer. Since the roots are hanging in air I like to keep the nutruent flowing to them constantly.

about the onion and lettuce I did that 5 days ago the onions grow (about 5 inch) back pretty fast the lettuce (about 2 inches) a little slow but looks just like yours and love both ..! I have a question they always say clay pebbles but i'm asking is there any reference between clay and normal marble size stones?? (cleaned of course)
@BackToBasics0017 жыл бұрын
I've never tried using stone pebbles, but I know others have (beach stone etc) with success. Once the roots are extended into the reservoir, the pebbles really just keep the light out (and algae down). You don't want to use a stone that would leach into the reservoir (limestone etc)

ok thanks

Would be really great if you included more information about size of pvc, number and name of each part as well as where you bought them. Such as sprayers and your pump!

Hi, Also I have the tub, I'm wondering how many inches did you cut your legs to ? thanks , nice job .
@BackToBasics0019 жыл бұрын
Kevin Padd It depends on the tub. I cut them so the sprayers are about an inch below the bottom of my net cups that I used. That way it doesn't actually touch the pot but sprays all around and even into them.
@2007srv9 жыл бұрын
Hi. thanks . I'm not using net pots. i'm just using plugs , placing my cuttings into them.. So my tube is rubbermaid 10 gal.. bottom inside measures 18x12x8".. could you tell me should I make legs higher than 4" high ?.and the pump spout 3 in. ?.Or.. i was going to go 16x10x4" ? thanks

I haven't watched your whole channel, but have you tried just growing the plants all the way through in this thing? Aeroponics supposedly produces bigger yields than hydroponics.

This is quite funny .. I'm not sure what every one else was doing back in 1997 but I built AND designed these very tables ...... Hay who's counting rite ......

The way you say basil is so annoying sounding.
@benpress88846 жыл бұрын
That's how everyone I have ever met pronounces it, so the way you say it must be really annoying.
@gslvqz88126 жыл бұрын
What the million dollar question is.... what does that have to do with the actual video topic:"Aeroponics Cloner - Buildout and plantings"? Do not take it personal but sometimes people can be really annoying when commenting things that are really off topic. Your comment would be best fitted if this video was an English pronunciation tutorial.

What about Nutrients?
@BackToBasics0016 жыл бұрын
I've used General Hydronics Liquid Nutrients, the dry MaxiGrow and MaxiBloom and Dutch Nutrient Formula (DNF). if you follow the directions on the bottles, they all work well. (Just make sure you follow the recommended pH as well)
