Hi, I’ve just fitted an Aerpro fascia kit to my BA Falcon and I’m using an Axis HM4Z05A deck. Can you please advise the part nos I’ll need to have my controls working?

Could you please either do a video, or explain why it is necessary to have a steering wheel control module when the head unit you are fitting has a self learn function, and what are the condition (car/head unit) where steering wheel controls can be maintained without the steering wheel control module? It would be very helpful. Thank you.

Hi Malcolm, A steering wheel control module is not needed in all cases but using one does make installation easier. The cases where the module is needed is either where the head unit does not have the self learn function or if the vehicles steering controls run via the canbus system. The benefit of using a module even where self learn is possible is that the installation can be more "plug and play" and if the vehicle loses power (during battery change for example) the steering controls don't need to be reprogrammed. I hope this helps answer your question.

@@aerpro Thank you very much for your helpful reply, if I could ask just one further question, I have a 2013 J10 Nissan Qashqai, would you know if this uses the canbus system for SWC or if it is just an analogue system. The OEM radio has SWC's (as well as reverse cam, and SatNav. Thank you.
