AES/EBU (AES3) Digital Audio Cable DIY Walkthrough

AES3 is a digital format that we often call AES/EBU.
AES / EBU Accurately, AES3 cables carry two channels of stereo digital audio. SMPTE TIMECODE, etc. can also be embed in the signal and transmitted. When DIYing an AES3 digital cable, be sure to use a 110Ω digital cable using a twisted core and, if possible, use the terminal provided for 110Ω. Understanding cable fabrication speeds up understanding of signal flow and process. In order to use sound knowledge and technology freely, it is essential to make cables necessary for sound work.

I will make 1,5 meters aes ebu cable, I have lot of neutrik nc3mxx and nc3fxx connectors. I will use 110ohm cable but Can I use nc3mxx instead of NC3MXCC?

The reason that I use NC3MXCC is for RF rejection. If there is less RF interference which is okay but It's not I recomannd NC3MXCC.

Canare DA202 is too thick to Fit in. Replace to plastic part instead of metal part.

How thick should the cable be approximately so that it fits? I ordered exactly the same connectors, only with 5mm thick Mogami cables. Would that fit?

@@Hasan-bl3fo There DA202 and DA206. DA202 is robust but thick. DA206 is relatively thin. To me I will make DA206 with expander.

기존 xlr과 다른 케이블인가요?

네 많이 다릅니다. 케이블에 110ohm 저항이 있구요. 두개의 심선이 HOT, COLD 로 작용하는게 아니라 DATA 가 전달되는 형태입니다. Twisted Core 로 구성되어 있습니다. AES3 디지털 시스템 구성을 할때 이 케이블을 사용하지 않으면 전송 에러가 생길 수 있습니다.

정말 유용한 정보 감사드립니다 ㅡ제가 그냥 일반 케이블로 연결했다 실패 했던 경험이 있는데요 ㅡ 혹시 디지털 케이블 길이가 길어도 데이터 전송에 상관 없는지 여쭤볼수 있을가요?? 7-10미터 정도 생각중입니다 ㅡ!!

@@davve2534 위 영상처럼 올바르게 제작된 AES/EBU 케이블은 길이가 좀 길어져도 사용에 무리가 없습니다.
