The whole song is about being an old dog who knows the tricks - the part he had to go back for says kids, I hope you grow up into your ideals and keep fighting for real in the streets and not just online. Learn to swing a blunt object, take your opportune attacks on soft targets, run when you have to, and stitch wounds after.

@@DreamersDreamBig i just dig that ur someone who gets fascinated by art on a level like aesop. Trust, the lines i didn't get, or thought unimportant for YEARS, will one day, decade later, hit me in a way that makes it the most moving thing in the song. Now whenever i hear a line i don't get, i know it's a hidden treasure i'll get so much from someday. his art is CRAZY like that. Now REACTION VIDS give me new understanding so much quicker than 10+ years! SO GLAD U EAGERLY STUCK WITH HIM. IT'LL BRING SUCH JOY TO A MIND THAT LOVES TO WONDER

From what I understand, his grandparents were Lithuanian immigrants, and I’m guessing his parents were teenagers when they came over. But that’s a whole lot of assumptions based on very little verifiable information

My favorite part of this is actually his hope/instruction for the younger generation. He hopes y’all grow as woke as you think you are and then provides guidelines for how to riot. Improvise weapons, pick soft targets, prepare ahead of time to run when you have to and to provide medical support.
