Words cannot express how much profound respect I have for Rhymesayers; Despite having (and in some cases even facilitating the purchase of) the album and affiliated merch for sale, they're still streaming the full album for free for those who might not currently have the cash to drop. Y'all know what I'm saying, so I'll leave it with this: *MAD* love to Aes, Tobacco, & Rhymesayers for continuing to actively promote love of the craft rather than love of the coin. Thank you for making my whole year despite it only being January, and I can't fuckin wait for my vinyl of Malibu Ken's debut album to arrive!

I dunno, I can't get into this album. Aes is still incredible, but the vaporwave synth stuff doesn't do anything for me. There's not enough hard-hitting bass to punctuate the lyrics, and everything just comes out sounding the same. I'm glad Aes is still making music, but this album is pretty monotone.

The musical qualities of the first track resonate with me in such a intrinsically fluent way. I feel like I am transcending mind and body when I hear the fire bars. You just can't listen to this without changing in some way. After this album, my kids finally opened up to me in a such a emotionally vulnerable way that it brought tears to my eyes. George Jr. never told me about his anxiety before. His grades have dropped and I've been worried. But after showing this album to him he immediately went to his room and did his homework. It was so well done that on parent teacher day Mrs. Jones - sorry, Ms. Jones, asked me what had changed. Simply enough, Churro had changed my son into a different young man. Filled with intrinsic curiosity and wonder he now takes on the world with newfound bravery and social awareness. Just the other day he asked me, "one strawberry jelly one glazed?". I answered, "yeah".

The lyrics are scattered with references to the West (wildfires, hi ho silver) and to desolate places (bars in Bartertown). In the track Save Our Ship he says, "might release hounds dressed up like doves." Then in the very next track, Sword Box, the first line goes, "what kind of bastion of trust hit the stage with a straight-face and a jacket full of doves." I'm feeling a connection here... I wonder if the songs line up with things like this. So far, the content is pretty similar in each song (not an insult at all. It seems like a concept album) and the content is also fitting for the fucking art work. This album is amazing.

It's strikingly fucking beautiful that this guy is continuing to be this lyrical in a time where a lot of hip-hop has become stylistically simple. I don't always gravitate towards rap, but TOBACCO on production is the bread to the lyrical butter. Thank you guys for the full album, but you know I'm gonna have to buy the vinyl so I can rock that insane mask. Bless all of y'all involved in this album. Actually I guess I should just thank Malibu Ken, ya weirdo

This right here, this is the best of the old Aesop and the new Aesop, flows and word play from almost every previous album wrapped into a perfect collection. I hear Float, Music For Earthworms, Appleseed, Labor Days, Fast Cars, None Shall Pass, Skelethon, The Uncluded, LIce and The Impossible Kid in this album yet it feels like it belongs along his B Side compilations and singles. Fucking perfect combination of all his styles. Hands down the Shakespeare of rap. And whoever this Tabacco guy is, damn, I thought Aesop and Blockhead went well together but this is put together with precision. The synths are off the hook too, especially in Sword Box and Purple Moss.

I've been listenin to aes since my early teens and somehow it would seem that we were always in a way synced, his songs would always reflect on my own thoughts and life as if he was narrating it, this was extremely obvious to me when impossible kid released, and also matched with an intense depressive episode that started a day before Hot Dogs got published. But these days i've felt like i lost myself, to not elaborate too much, an existential crisis would be a sort of kinda description of what i'm goin through. And guess what the fuck is up, aes comes in, says everything i think and feel in a 30 minute amalgamation of decorated reality and reminds me that i am indeed a lonely weirdo in a proverbial barn, with a couple of weirdo friends and shitty luck, but at the same time he gives me back my pride of sincerely being who i am. If he can make it so can I, If i can make it so can he. Bless you Aes

Stay strong and live your best life, even if people think you're abnormal. Society has a mould that we're all expected to fit into, it takes courage to own your shit when you don't fit that mould. Fuck em lol, do things your own way. I met a guy last year who spent some time away as part of a small community in the mountains of Spain. He came back home for a year and couldn't get used to the 9-to-5 and the responsibilities thrust upon him. He moved back to the mountains where he spends his days climbing, chilling, driving around and collecting waste for a bit of cash. Some people would be pissed off at that. They'd see it as him copping out and not contributing to society. Well, he's not a drain on society either. Don't see the big deal lol, we have enough people on this earth and we're not around forever.

I started rapping in middle age. Everyone around me looked at me weird, now they're getting into my songs. Follow your own path. There are billions of people to handle being "normal" (aka ordinary). Drive in your own lane and, if there isn't a lane for you to drive in, make one. Nobody's going to be looking back from their deathbed and thinking, "I should have conformed more."

Going from Earthworms to all his work in the latest decade feels like a true evolution of a rapper that can't possibly be compared to any other, because he's still along the lines of being absolutely mind blowing and wordy, yet the cohesion, aka the glue of his lyricism gets better and better as he has progressed throughout the years. His delivery is flawless, his flow, like a finely tuned wave crashing on a shore of amazing instrumental works, personally I like the synth stuff, just as much as the industrialism or the classic hip hop beats, because it all sounds great since it's Aes dude

Aes is just so damn good at this shit. There's not many artists I listen to that just get better with age but I really feel that way with him. Maybe this isn't the place for it, I love Slug to death, but I wish he could pull off aging as well as Aesop Rock. Not trying to be negative, just selfishly wish he put out music similar to his early days. But it's clearly not that easy. Anyways, just happy Rhymesayers is still killing it 20 years later.
