not many people can relate to his shit but the ones who can, really do. so thats why instead of having widespread fame, he has a following of people who really appreciate his art. in my opinion thats the best kind of fame...
@mistaree5731 Жыл бұрын
well said. I'm one of the people that relate and really study his art. It's honestly mind blowing! it's like how the opera or classical is made for the elite of the musical society, Aes is like a whole genre on his own, for the lyrical elite to marvel at and appreciate. It's way too advanced for most listeners, it's more for the writers and most advanced lyrical savants. GOAT

This song means more to me than any other song I've ever listened to. Whatever his personal meaning is I have, myself, an idea of what this song is about and I don't think any other tune has hit me so personally. Truly brilliant man, instead of fighting about what he means let's just give praise where it's deserved and hope that he keeps making great, meaningful music that we all can take something out of.

I like to think it's about his reasoning. When he says the land is made of water he is saying everything he thought he knew is wrong and he can't take refuge in what he used to find comfort in.

I just had this as a single, didn't know it which CD it was on, so thank you. I still believe its Blockhead though, the voice sample, layering and style all seem to point to him, especially in those early pre-def. jux/ninjatune years. However I cannot find anywhere who produced it.

@ExcellenceUSAF i agree. people dont question the amount of sensical meaning in main stream stuff but when they hear aesop rock they accuse of him spitting gibberish when all rap contains kinda pointless, meaningless lines. While not the only goal, flow and overall vibe of a song is probably the ultimate goal of music in general.
