Their storyline is honestly kind of difficult to explain, especially since we don't have the full story yet. Their lyrics heavily incorporate their story, but you won't be able to get the full meanings because they have their own vocabulary, words that most likely won't make sense to you (KWANGYA, NAEVIS, FLAT, SYNK, etc.). I strongly suggest you watch "Black Mamba" Ep.1 Sm Culture Universe. It's around 10 minutes long, you'll get to see the girls' acting, and you'll get a much deeper grasp of the story.

This was such a fun watch. aespa have really carved out their own lane and the fact that they did it in such a short period of time makes it all the more impressive. I'm sure you guys get overwhelmed with requests/suggestions, but I think you'd be into Monsta X. They're a six-member group who like aespa have a sound that's very much their own. Apologies in advance for the long comment, but I figured I would fill you guys in on some of the details of the Aespa universe/their lore since they mention aspects of it in every song they release: FLAT: another dimension where each of the members virtual counterparts (ae-Karina, ae-winter, ae-Giselle and ae-Ningning) live/exist ae: is pronounced as “eye”; online vs offline selves. ae’s are reflections of Aespa but are not direct copies of them; the ae’s know all of Aespa’s secrets, thoughts and feelings How Aespa members connect to their ae’s: Winter: a gamer Giselle: a tech-savvy student Ning-Ning: A hacker Karina: is somehow corrupted/altered by a glitch in the SYNK SYNK: how Aespa and their ae’s are connected and how the ae’s are able to travel from their home in the FLAT to the REAL WORLD. Think of it as an internet connection REAL WORLD: where Aespa lives REKALL: the action of crossing over because of SYNK enabling it to happen P.O.S: the portal used to cross over SYNK OUT: when the two worlds (FLAT and REAL WORLD) are disconnected; this disconnect forces the ae’s out of the real world BLACK MAMBA: the one who causes the SYNK OUT; the “villain”; -because of the Black Mamba causing this disconnect/disruption between the FLAT and the REAL WORLD , it sends the Aespa members on a journey to reconnect with their ae’s -Also, the black mamba seems to be targeting karina specifically; her eyes even go black in the black mamba MV when she gets touched by the black mamba KWANGYA: the realm in between both the REAL WORLD and the FLAT; where the black mamba wanders - Aespa travels to the KWANGYA in the Next Level MV in order to find the black mamba and SYNK with the ae’s again, however the ae’s are also in the KWANGYA NAEVIS: a navigation ae that opens the portals in and out of KWANGYA, allowing travel from one dimension to the next KOSMO: still kind of unknown; possibly another dimension, a peaceful realm, etc NU-EVO: new evolution Again I apologize for the long comment, just wanted to share this with you because it has helped me out a lot when listening to their music. watching this a year after you posted...although I think I watched it once before...keyed this comment as your prescience was accurate. As I write, AESPA is just finishing their Would Tour. I believe they are in Europe now after treating South American audiences. They blew away the audiences in the states and Asia and no doubt, Europe will be the same. Their Savage performance stage 1 is the best one I've seen from Kpop (personal opinion). This MV is good but there's too much going on.In the stage performance, we get to appreciate more of their vocals, stage presence, choreoghraphy, the set and the camerawork. Please watch it.
