This and Supernova are very similar. The beat of Supernova is faster but the lyrics feel slower, while Whiplash is the opposite. I really like both. Also I applaud them, because they were criticized for just doing noise music and loud vocals. Also I don't want them to damage their voices during concert season. Its a good idea to switch it up, plus the b-sides have high notes.

this year definitely skyrocketed aespa to the stardom, respect, consolidation, status high quality, and God hopely longevity. A lot fandoms brags about a faster achievements in 1-2 years of their favorites girls groups, and descreditem aespa for being already 4 years in the industry, but they are on their own step, with firm but sure steps over the way.

Tbh it's Aespa and that's already enough for me. The song in itself it's more runway music for walking around like a bad bitch. Plus the video is pure editorial like ,as a fashion girlie, it's really good. Idk I feel like Armageddon had a bigger wow factor than Whiplash but, as I said, it's Aespa so it's always gonna be good.

What defines aespa is not having always super big and fat production music. What defines them is always changing things up while staying to their true sound. Spicy wasn't anything near Savage nor was Drama. Whiplash is more minimalistic and cvnty, not every music released has to be dramatic and expensive sounding, sometimes a more basic but fun song is all you need. I'd rather have Whiplash playing 24/7 while working or at the gym than Drama, the songs fulfill different categories/needs. :D

It's not a weak song, you're just not used to this musical style like Hyper Pop. This song has everything to be the best song of the year and one of the best from aespa, its production is magnificent and it's more oriented to the general international public than just to K-pop

tbh i loved armageddon and supernova but i think i like this one more, its easily repeatable upbeat banger. Althought you cant compare to armageddon since its different style its more like close to supernova just like armageddon is close to drama. Overall i liked it and its one of my favs this year so far

I’m still surprised how many folks aren’t familiar with EDM especially considering so much of kpop this year features various genres of electronic dance music. Most of aespas music falls into the EDM genre but this is very much the techno genre of EDM which I feel like is still less popular in the mainstream US than others like bass, house music and drum and bass. But yes this is hardcore techno and if you love EDM this is the BEST song to come out from them but otherwise you’ll probably find it mid. I hope more folks get into EDM so yall can appreciate this more 😂😭

The aespa team made a good choice to go back down to earth with a minimalistic song and MV for a change of pace. It would be unrealistic to top Supernova/Armageddon in the same type of style on back to back releases. It remains to be seen if they can ever top Armageddon with another maximalistic masterpiece.

Aespa's music is no strange to being divisive and thats because they take time to explore other sound while still sticking to their core concept! Personally, I actually like if there are hits and misses in a group's music. Misses just will differ between person to person. I like Whiplash (not as much as previous Armageddon tbh) but I'd really recommend checking out the whole album. It's pretty cohesive. Production and adlibs also go crazy (Flowers!).

when i first listen to whiplash, i wasn’t really feeling it. it felt kinda empty compared to other title tracks or aespa overall. it’s not a bad song, it just doesn’t live up to the quality we’ve gotta from them since DRAMA. it’s still not my favorite title, but after multiple listens it’s grown on me. now KILL IT……… 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 she’s that girl🔥🔥 should have been the title!!!

I rather be honest this is not a bad song, it just sounds a little boring… whiplash repeated 1million times all over the track, no instrumental build up, the chorus remains the same with no background changes… it’s so calm and repetitive.
