I love how supernova broke their number 2 curse but instantly went back to it with up and whiplash. All jokes aside I find it shocking savage, drama, and spicy didn’t peak at number 1, I would say next level aswell but butter was dropped in similar times. Their just like red velvet, both had many huge hit songs but were usually blocked from number 1 and took around 3 years to achieve their first number 1. Aespa is currently killing it, I see them winning both song of the year and artist of the year in mama and mma.

@@israelherrera5505 which scandal? nj and mhj?, lsfm coachella+encore?, Illit encore or bang oink? Why do you sound like you're discrediting the hardwork they put into the songs? As if SM/Aespa relied on hybe scandal to succeed? Cause, no. SM were always artistically better, and carefully crafts their group's discography and concepts, without purly relying on mainstream trends/concepts or music and having real singers to sing their vocally challenging songs. Aespa already grew quite popular with Black Mamba, Next Level and Savage (their og core sound imo). But had Girls (which objectively was a miss) hinder their progress, and Spicy (which did better) but did not do much for them. Which made it appear like they were no longer relevant. But tbh they always were and had the potential. For Aespa repeaking, they are just reclaiming their spot, and also just made slightly more gp-friendly, replay friendly with an undertone of their core sound and concept, with better marketing strategy, and songs that sound Aespa but would do way better commercially for the mainstream audience, which has almost nothing to do with hybe.
