The mechanic that kept me hooked in this game for almost a year now is that the characters that you put in your team helps you out instead of you doing character swapping, they are literally there to help you as an AI companion. I mean character swapping is really good like in PGR, Wuwa, Genshin and etc; but I like this mechanic more.
