I made to sure to get the challenge done in the run and you can see it trigger in the results screen as proof. - If you're doing the minimalist challenge (without being restricted to just SG-09 R), I recommend fully investing in the SG-09 R until you get to the castle, then you should invest in the Blacktail and later get the Matilda with the stock. For the Island, you should keep the Blacktail for most encounters and use the Matilda with the stock for Krauser and Saddler. - Some parts didn't go as intended. One of them was the cabin: some small mistakes at the end of phase 1 led to a chaotic opening of phase 2 and I unintentionally killed 5 enemies triggering the brute so I had to improvise - please check a separate video I recently uploaded with the correct methodology for phase 2. Saddler's fight was a bit sloppy as I missed a few important shots during the Novistadors summoning so I was a bit late to move to the lower platform (luckily it was still fine as he went for the horizontal acid attack). The Bella sisters in chapter 6 also went poorly due to some unfortunate enemy placements and small mistakes. In the village siege, I had an unfortunate opening with too many grabbers pressuring me into the little shack and then I had a lucky parry at 0:05:06 that I happened to get because I was aiming to reorient Leon towards the Ganado for a knife execution. - I had to take a break at 1:51:10 for about 15 minutes so I edited out the long pause I had in the run.

It's one of the better fights of the game. In some specific positions and by understanding his AI with the pustules, it removes the randomness with the acid. I like how the knife is really good at stunning him.

I have returned, come back if you will to rewatch your videos and somehow I only just this time realized that in your description it says “played in pc at 60fps with a controller” A controller?!? All this time I thought you were using a mouse I think. Your aim is just so spot on, I suck with the analog sticks, however I play on ps5… once I unlocked the helmet for aim assist on pro I never took it off. 12:05 LOL! I don't know why I found that so funny, but clever way of making mincemeat out of the brute. I'm currently working a minimalist professional, no damage run. Seeing you do it with the Standard Pistol is very impressive. I'm wondering if it's achievable with the Punisher? It's the weakest gun, but so much fun to use. I managed to get to the castle so far, but wondering how it would fair against the later bosses.

It's not going to be too bad. I found the hardest one to be Saddler but that was mostly because I wanted to do the fight with all the extra Novistadors. You can still prevent it using barrels.

Great run! Does stocking up on small resources force more handgun ammo drops? Or is it pointless? I see you have tons of small resources in your case

No. The idea is that when you’re low on ammo, the game is likely to drop bigger stacks (10 bullets instead of 5). So save your resources and only craft if you really need to stock gunpowder and small resources.

@aether2125 oh okay interesting. I always thought crafting as soon as you get enough resources and gunpowder to craft is best, due to being able to force more gunpowder/resources drops. Would you say saving resources and gunpowder unless you need it is most optimal then in general for staying on top of ammo? Or just for this handgun and knife challenge only? Sorry if sounding like too many questions
