You should check the power metal bands from Greece. Firewind, Wardrum, Inner Wish, Chryssilia, Meden Agan, Enemy Of Reallity are some of them. They are really great.

if you guys like melodic stuff, you should try out "Deathstar" from Before the Dawn. The band doesn't exist anymore, but they are one of my favourites when it comes to melodic death metal. They are from finland btw...;), sure you will like them...

Rotting Christ for sure, other good greek bands: Firewind (Gus G, the guitar player, used to play for Ozzy) Nighfall Nightrage (partly greek, partly swedish, Gus G also used to play on this band) Suicidal Angels (I did their concert in Lisbon in 2016) Thou Art Lord Necromantia Varathron Kawir Zemial Most of those bands are Black Metal, Greece had a very strong BM scene oh the 90's.

Hello guys! Looks like you two really like the melodeath type of metal. I´m more of a black/doom/trash dude. But there are some special and very skilled melodic death metal bands out there. I got two bands for you. First one is from my home country Sweden. Hyperion, they released there first and only (so far) album 2016. Try Seraphicacl Euphony (studio version), great shit. Second one is an band from the States. Hoth, also a very melodic band, but borrows a little bit from black metal. Thier album Oathbreaker, a concept album about Darth Vaders journey to become evil. Really geekie, but this guys know how to make music. The song Acolyte of the Tenebrous Night is a good start. Try it out.

Obviously a talented band. I feel like they don't quite have that signature "something" that separates them from the other melodeath bands. They sound so akin to Insomnium. I'd love to hear them branch out a little, maybe try different gear or settings. It just seems a bit "by the numbers", meaning that they are channeling Insomnium circa 2006.

I know I'm 3 months late now, however I thought the same when I first listened to them like 2 years ago when the video just came out and now I'm a huge fan of 'em. They're definitely among the top 5 of my favorite bands. The vocals are hard to get used to, but perhaps you give them another try one day. :)
