Gotta say I disagree. With a 30-man online battle royale mode called Stadium Stampede on the way, I think they should build this game on at least a 5 year lifecycle. Forbidden Door content and NJPW stars will most likely be DLC.

That's the plan the developers have. Support with updates and new content being added over the next few years. The same way the Dying Light franchise has released and supported their games.

I'm really excited about this game. I was a huge fan of this style of wrestling game since WCW Vs NWO. I haven't liked the more show simulation style games. I'm really excited to see reviews comparing the different systems and how it plays on PS5, PC, and Switch.

it's branching paths in the story mode, you come across a match where you have to beat PW in 3min, after that he become purchasable in the store

Sounds like the online play chooses a dedicated host and that hosts online connection determines the quality for everyone. So if you have a crappy connection and you're the host, you might see a smooth game while your opponent gets a choppy match with everyone skipping around.

Love this game. Solid 8.5 out of 10. Things I love: Road to Elite, ease of play, arcade style, feels like No Mercy/Revenge. Things Id fix: Increase Roster, a more efficient reversal mechanic, make the running mechanic smoother, include cage and Blood &Guts. With how fun the game is I wouldn’t mind paying more for some more guys maybe even some NJPW and AAA guys.

Paul White actually is unlockable through the story mode, you just have to get the right story. There are also multiple different storylines in story mode, so you'll have to play multiple times and multiple different way in order to get the different storylines

Also, I never seen so many glitches in a game before like this. If you look between the 10:04 mark and 10:05 where you got a pizza box and when you hit Kingston in the head with the box, you missed. But the box comes out of your hands, and it goes through his head.

AKI engine, John...AKI. 'WCW vs. nWo: World Tour', 'WCW/nWo: Revenge', 'WWF Wrestlemania 2000', and 'WWF No Mercy' were using the AKI engine. Yukes developed the Gamecube titles (X8, XIX, Day of Reckoning 1/2), and the Smackdown legacy series from the initial game on the ps1 all the way up to 2K19 with 'Legends of Wrestlemania' and the arcade 'Royal Rumble' being its only spinoffs. Yukes and Jakks merged up for awhile and that pushed AKI out of the WWF picture and over to EA who were developing 'WCW Mayhem 2'...but when Vince bought WCW, they lost the license, and that's how we got 'Def Jam Vendetta'. * adjusts nerd glasses *

From my google search ... In order to unlock this wrestler, you will have to beat him in 180 seconds. After that, Paul Wight will be available in the shop and you will be able to purchase him with 30,000 Credits.

This game is fun My main complaint is this , the matches It would be fun to have a fatal 4 way ladder match or a triple threat barbed wire death match etc…. But overall good 8.5 undertakers out of 10

Here is my problem with this game someone brought it up on twitter this game similar to 2k23 is built like a fighting game and personally I do not see the No mercy insperation on it all I see now is a fighting game. I get they are trying to bring the fun back but I thought No mercy was more of a sim than a arcade game myself HCTP was a arcade game. This is personally a no buy for me I doubt I will be getting a wrestling game for a while I am still on 2k19 that's my kind of game. There is no way this is going to be a one and done game like they are expecting.

Can't wait to play this. I'm fine with fewer match types because i like to use the core gameplay and gimmicks tend to get in the way of that. Make some original wrestlers with movesets to fit their characters and have fun with it.

AKI Corp was the one that did the N64 wrestling games for THQ, Yukes did the bad PS versions. AEW is definitely more like the great N64 games.

The part that is flawed about it, is i cant play it!!!! It worked perfectly on preorder day, now the last two days it crashes before every match. I cant do RTE, i cant do exhibition, i cant modify my moveset. Everything crashes.... and this is the new update.. anyone else experiencing this??? I spent 80 dollars and was able to play for 3 hours...

Sting is easily the best looking/most realistic character in the game IMO which is awesome. The downside, they gave us no Sting alt attires, you can’t change his face paint, hair or attires. That’s a fin joke in a 2023 next gen wrestling game

I think I'm just gonna wait for AEW to hear all the feedback and make another game. The small things like entrances really matters to me and, the arcadey vibe of this game doesn't sit well with me. All I've really wanted from a pro wrestling game these past decade has been: WWE2K level of graphics with SVR Gameplay, and somewhat Free-Roam "choices matter" kind of long story mode.

You do realise that those games are also predecessors to this, right? This isn't the first anything. If the engine isn't up to scratch, it has no excuses. Well, other than poor direction. They should have focused on the engine, roster and online play. Expunge the story mode and caws if they aren't on the level.
