Had me too. Been a fan of his since I was a teen in the 80's. Hope this gave a little sense of what it was like there.

I was watching wrestling at the fairgrounds in Wilson and Rocky Mount with Flair and Steamboat before Sting ever came around. I hope you see what this means to me. @SimplyIncredibleDiscGolf

@@killerseddie8295 I totally understand. I watched in the Roanoke Civic Center. Wahoo, Johnny Weaver, Baron Von Raschke, Paul Jones, the Youngbloods, Greg the Hammer Valentine, and so many more.

Magnum was supposed to be the next big thing. He had the look and the skill. I've seen the Horsemen leaning by the limo with a gaggle of women waiting for a Tully match to be over with at Dorton Arena.

Back in 1989 I flew out to Tennessee to see my father, as he had moved from the UK seeking better (financial) job opportunities. When I was out in Tennessee, he took me to my very first wrestling show. I can’t remember the exact date in 1989, but the match I remember to this very day was Sting and The Anderson’s Vs Buzz Sawyer, The Dragon Master and The Great Muta. I grew up following his career ever since that, and it’s nice to see that he had the send off he wanted. Regardless of my personal thoughts on that “glass spot”, he was able to go out on top, with his children by his side. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Thankyou Sting. 😊

Best send off anyone could have gotten. However this lil Stinger is still incredibly sad to see him go

Same. All the legends of my youth are retired. Sting was the last of a generation.

@@SimplyIncredibleDiscGolf when he made the announcement I was already going through a rough time from losing my uncle who used to take me to wrestling matches when I was growing up so he doubled my tears hearing it. I had to beg my mom to let me get it because he was retiring. She wasn’t too keen on the price for it. I told her I’d pay her back which I did or tried to do. 🤣 Trust me the tears have not completely stopped crying yet either. So much loss I don't know how I will ever recover.

@@SimplyIncredibleDiscGolf I wish I could meet him and tell him what he’s meant to me. He will be at galaxycon in Richmond va this weekend coming up on Saturday the 16th. That however I can’t do.
