@@steveolie985 Rust Taylor would be a better challenger for the Pure Title then Tony Neese. At least he has some history of being in that division twice before. Lee Moriarty is another. I didn't mention Fred Yehi because he hasn't been on Dark. If he had been he would be at the top of my list. Especially since he won the first Pure Gauntlet match and Wheeler Yuta is the guy he defeated at the end of the 8 man field. Plus Yehi and Yuta have been Tag Team partners in both ROH and on New-Japan Strong.

I seriously think Elevation and Dark need to move past the outside local indie talent squashes. It was useful when their roster was small and the pandemic forced them to use local talent. But with Aew's inflated roster, they really should use it as a regular show. With real storylines, and have matches between signed lower card talent. All these local wrestlers just get squashed anyway, and it doesn't really make the signed wrestlers look good as everyone know they are going to win. In mma it's referred to as recording padding, and I definitely think making matches within the signed roster would make the whole show more worth watching and solidify the lower card and up and coming talent with better character development.

You're right. Maybe 1 squash match with a local talent per show, but no more. Dark and Dark: Elevation should absolutely be for the lower mid-card/undercard talent to feud with eachother, and build storylines that can lead them into the upper mid-card/main event scene on Rampage and Dynamite. They have so much unused talent signed it makes no sense to be bringing in so many outsiders. 11 'local/non AEW' talent on this show alone.

And that way they get a win over a lower card talent, it looks believable. But in general the bulk of their roster isn't getting enough storylines. Dark, and Elevation would definitely be more worth while and productive if it was used only for their signed talent.
