Leyla Hirsch is a LEGIT badass, I loved her match with Serena Deeb on Dynamite and she is quite good against Shida here too. AEW has to have Leyla on their radar, she is a great grappler, great striker, and doesn't have a bad submission arsenal either. Love Leyla Hirsch!!

@@ftmws293 Maybe grappler and striker are different wrestling styles as well? I would say she is more of an all-arounder. She is powerful and can grappler. Her kicks and punches got really good in Stardom. She can do some flyer stuff. Flying is probably her weakest aspect. She is also good technically as she was an amateur wrestler.

@@rriggs6547 No, striker is not a wrestling style. A striker is someone whose prefered style of fighting is punching and kicking. A grappler is someone who prefers to take the fight to the ground and is very skilled in takedowns, submissions ,etc. My problem is that they're using MMA terminology when it doesn't make sense to because they're not throwing real punches, the wrestling is pro wrestling not the actually sport of wrestling and this is not even a real fight. I'm an MMA fan so them using MMA terminology sounds dumb.

@@ftmws293 Many wrestlers in Japan often resemble or actually are MMA fighters. A striker is a type of wrestler. Stardom tends to have the best strikers for women right now and Leyla spent a while training with them. Shida has done MMA. Her strikes are usually very believable, especially since she usually uses strong style. It does make sense to use MMA terminology when the wrestlers are using MMA styles.

Thinking about the division, there are: Tier -A: Shida, Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Serena Deeb Tier -B: Penelope Ford, Big Swole, Tay Conti, Leyla Hirsch Tier -C: Anna Jay, Abadon, Allie, Leva Bates Tier -D: KiLynn King, Mel, Brandi Rhodes,... We have got a pretty solid roster here and all we need now is some great stories to back it up. Just think about it.

That's why AEW dark exists to give those lower on tandem pole to showcase themselves before appearing on dynamite. @@gunnyo50 Not entirely wrong. So far the women’s matches have been good but not really up to par with the rest of the show. However more talent like Hirsch will solve that problem. Hirsch doesn’t look concerned with being delicate. She looks as tough as her male counter parts. Looks like she’s wreck anyone in the females locker room and a few of the dudes. I think we get just enough of the women’s division given the level of their talent at present. Wasn’t a fan of Riho at all. Not entirely sold on Shida. Britt Baker is a snooze fest. Statlander was massively underwhelming. Nyla is awesome and honestly should still be champ. Thunder Rosa needs to signed pronto if she ain’t already.

if anyone followed Leyla in Stardom, she went from being green with a lot of raw talent to being good. I really enjoyed her matches by the end of her time there. She hasn't missed a step since coming to AEW. Honestly, she already feels more polished than Britt, Swole, and Anna Jay. Statlander and Nyla are green too, but they have a power style that covers up most of their inexperience. I would love to see Leyla on a regular basis. Hopefully instead of seeing Britt in the ring again.

@@hiphopdagame Outside of Shida, and the other joshi in Japan, and Deeb, all of them are TV green. But, most of them are also wrestling green as well. Brandi, Swole, Britt, and so forth simply aren't that good right now. Statlander and Rose are green as well, but their style is much more forgiving. They can get away with being a little green as long as they don't hurt anyone.
