Great video especially the wiring section…….really helped. I’d like to add one thing after my install….. The tank sits on the tray and frame very tightly . if you’re going to add the air ride safety valve to the switch assembly be very careful that you do not pinch that air line between the tank and frame! You’ll be able to tell because when you put in the back tank bolts, the holes will not align properly. The tank will be a little offset to the left.

Does the stand interfere with the biker bar ?
@sikbaggersАй бұрын
Thanks for checking it out Joe! no the biker bar should be installed more forward of where this stand is and even with my SOB stands I leave the stand down with the bike air upped. So the center stand should never come into play when using a biker bar.

May I ask why you went Dirty air for suspension and southern Oregon for stand
@sikbaggers4 жыл бұрын
Yes sir...I started with JNR air on my SG, still running it actually...very nice set up..I got the dirty air this time to try something different and to be honest for the price id buy the Dirty again...just seems better built to me. The ride is about the same I would say though. As far as the center stand. Once again just getting the SOB on the street glide and I love it. no issues and built like a tank. Ive drug mine 3 times, I know it was my stupidity and I forgot...BUT its never bent or had any issues with it at all...so I stuck with that same on the this RG build.

Anyone can chime in, but how is that dirty air ride? I've been looking at jnr air ride also. Want some real world input. Thanks for the video!
@juliomor3nabagger5104 жыл бұрын
Hey James, I recently installed the dirty air rear system on my 2019 SGS after watching Steve’s video. The install believe it or not was fairly easy, make sure you jack the bike up otherwise the bike is going to bottom out when you remove the first bolt from the suspension (rookie mistake on my part -life lesson) . I originally installed the system without the fast up air tank and a couple of days later ended up ordering it because I felt it just took too long for me to air up (15-20 seconds) . Adding the fast up air tank was just as easy and along with Steve’s video plus the instructions that dirty air provides in was all simple . As long as you have some common knowledge of wiring and just simple tool knowledge you would be ok if you’re doing the job yourself. As far as the ride, I think it’s a soft and comfortable ride, here in NYC we don’t have the best roads so I end up bottoming out more than I’d like to depending on how much pressure I’m sitting on. When I’m riding alone I keep it around 78-83 psi , if I’m with the wife I ride around 100psi. I also suggest the digital air pressure gauge which works great but looks awesome as well once installed. So the ride feels very soft I think , if you’re a cruiser you will find it very comfortable. For me I’m a cruiser but I also like to dip and take turns deep (just cause I used to ride a jap so it’s bad fun habit I guess ) and I find that when I do those things there’s a lot of bounce on the tail end. So the suspension is not as stiff as the stock suspension, there’s a lot more bounce and recoil if that makes any sense to you. Besides that it’s a great attention getter when you pull up and let the air out . I say go for it . Sorry I don’t have any details on the JNR .

Great Channel, very informative. Got a question for you, so I am running Legends Air Ride with MRI electric center stand on my 2012 RG CVO, I am running D&D two into one with a Ghost Pipe on the left, so I have no problem mounting my center stand. I just bought my 2020 RG Special, running HD header Pipe with 4.5 Hitman Slip on's. I have the 131 crate motor. due to the cross over MRI says there is nothing I can do to allow center stand install. My question is do you have any options / suggestions to allow me to add a electric center stand on the 2020?
@sikbaggers4 жыл бұрын
Honesty you would have to see how far back your cross under pipe is and then see how tall your legs are on the stand..see where that would meet. I know the MRI goes up past the frame in the up position and that is not necessary ..you can run that thing level with the ground and have clearance.
@garycooper99684 жыл бұрын
Makes Good Sense....While I have you...is there another company you might suggest, just in case I can get the MRI to fit. I got air on the 2020 and I am spoil with the electric stand on the 2012

Hey Steve, I don't know if you're familiar with the B&W biker bar mounts? I was wondering if you knew with a center stand if you could use the biker bars system with that center stand? Looks from your video, the stand sits towards the back of frame, but I'm not sure of how far actuator sits towards the front of the bike anyway, just thought id ask if you happen to know. Thanks, and God bless.
@sikbaggers2 жыл бұрын
Yes sir I use it and just pulled it from my trailer and installed it in my buddies toy hauler yesterday. The actuator does not come anywhere near the part that goes on the bike. The biker bar piece for the bike should be installed roughly right behind the rear floor board mount. The only thing you need to watch for is the wires going back to your tranny and youll be gold. One thing to note is never sit your bike down on the centerstadn when hauling ...even on the biker bar it will air out and sit on the stand just dont do that...leave some air in your system to make it tighter on the biker bar.
@davidchamberlin92732 жыл бұрын

What if you are doing it with a Rear Air and Ride Height Repeater instead of front air? Also, I am about to order a SOB center stand. What length did you use? Is that stock cross under exhaust or aftermarket cross under?! Thanks in advance and keep up the awesome videos!!

Get up with Shane...He has multiple switch combos you can choose from. So you can change the switches out to what you need. Let him know what you have and then he can add that style to your switch.
@juliomor3nabagger5104 жыл бұрын
Hey Steve, did the SOB center stand give you a hard time like the one you put on the Streetglide ? Does it sit all the way up with the cross over exhaust ?
@sikbaggers4 жыл бұрын
The thing I learned on the SG was I have a crazy cross under pipe that goes at an angle under the bike causing the stand to hit on one side. If the cross under pipe goes straight under the bike and you use a 1 inch lowering kit you can use a shorter stand and it goes right up with no issues. The cobra header has the angled cross under pipe...nothing I can do about that but I got it to work. This build I put the V&H dresser duals on there and it has a straight cross under pipe. I lowered it one inch so I could use a shorter stand and it goes right up.
