Thanks for the video! I plan on using it for long exposures rather than using a cable shutter release.

I do, I use it to calculate the height from which I need to drop an item such that I can get the perfect splash photo. small splash .2 seconds = drop from 200mm up. for bigger splash I go up to a half second and drop from 122 cm

Thank you very much. I've enjoyed your 2 minute tips and this is one I could have used the other day. I defaulted to self timer but didn't realize this feature existed. I also found that I hadn't cleared the number of exposures I had set to the self timer from 3 back to 1 from my last attempt to capture a group family photo where everyone is looking at the camera :)

That was clear and helpful. Thanks for putting the video together. I use exposure delay for night photos. The problem with self timer is the green countdown light flashes which is annoying to me and others when in a dark setting.

Excellent information. Really like the explanations and in-depth feature discussions. I would like you to further explain the focus options. I have used all but when trying to use face detect dynamic area I have bad results - equestrian trial. Any tips appreciated.

I'll have a think about how I can do this in a meaningful way. As you know it's a complex area of functionality that Nikon haven't really explained too much so will need a little reverse engineering. I'm also seeing some rumours that the upcoming firmware upgrade may also include some AF enhancements. Thanks for the nudge on AF functionality. Wrt dynamic area I had some challenges with it like you with still so have tended to move back to wide area (S + L) modes which has given better results. Cheers Adrian

I could see where EDM could benefit in, say, capturing drop splash, etc. Keep this up!

When I mount the camera on the tripod I always tend to use the Nikon remote cable release. Only because I look more professional that way 😂
