There's a reason it's been over 40 years since another rookie CB was first ballot all pro: CBs in the NFL, barring injury, ALWAYS improve after their first year. Jalen Ramsey improved. So did Xavien Howard. So did every CB you want to look up. It's a technique heavy, tricky position, but there's not a lot of intangibles to it. If there was a debate about Sauce being the best corner in the division, the fact that he's a rookie would weight in his favor.

If Sauce had the most passes defensed as a rookie, in his second year he's going to be terrifying. Among elite corners, he may have the quickest path in history from being drafted to getting to the point where QBs just avoid his side of the field. It wasn’t holding its was because he’s so big he is able to be all over the receivers. The Refs call holding and PI all day everyday. Sauce rarely got called for it because he wasn’t holding. He hand fights with the WR and as long as both the receiver and corner battle like that the refs will let them play.

Howard will be 30 before the season starts. Has been dealing with injuries since 2018 missing games since 2021. Hasn’t really been that dog since his 2020 season. Howard depends on his his 4.5 speed in his prime at his size that made him elite. CB is not QB. QB is cerebral. It’s about processing, and using technique to more experience makes QBs better. More experience makes CBs better too, but, too much of their game is tied to their physical traits. Which deteriorate by late 20’s for your RBs, WRs, CB, S, etc. DT, O line, QB, these are your 30’s elite capability positions.

Well what people need to remember is that X had his best year once he had jones opposite of him and he looks very motivated for this year and he should have a great season this year. Ramsey is number one till sauce proves it next year it's hard for a rookie CB to have great back to back years but number 2 can either be X or Sauce for sure
