All the negative reactions I've seen to the finale reminded me of what Trent Crimm (Independent) said to Roy early in Season 3 - that when he was starting as a writer, he was trying to make a name for himself by tearing people down and peddling negativity. That scene was AMAZING!

A lot of critics were panning this whole season. I have no clue why, I think it’s just because it didn’t meet their expectations? I mean seriously what were they expecting??? Which is weird because this show does so much to subvert common tropes.
@justskiddingaround-idontkn7519 Жыл бұрын
They were expecting competent writing. With each successive season Ted Lasso went from a 10/10 to a 7/10. Still a good watch but fails to live up to its first season’s quality. The third season is the worst offender, a complete mess in terms of writing propped up by the wonderful cast of characters(and powerful performances from the actors and actresses), and the foundation of the first two seasons. Season 2 wasn’t as good as season 1 but it was at least still close to the kind of show season 1 was. This third season absolutely fails that and is just disappointing. It could have been truly special. Maybe even joining the likes of shows like breaking bad and better call saul as one of the few shows that were damn near perfect every step of the way. Instead it becomes decent. Good enough for most shows but not good enough for its own legacy. Not nearly as bad as how GOT S8 destroyed all of GOT but it’s still one of those situations where a final season dips a show’s quality. Anyway that’s my personal opinion and experience of this season as a ted lasso fan. If you enjoyed the final season good for you, I can only wish I felt the same way. Even after all this I still really liked the show and would have liked to seen it done justice for its final season. Moments like this clip we’re commenting on are one of the rare moments of quality writing in the final season. If only we had more of it.
