Well, l guess Sanusi is smart but wrong about subsidy removal. Average Nigerians are not benefiting anything from government except the subsidy which directly or indirectly benefits average people in Nigeria.

@@akeemolaseni5062 Oil subsidy benefits average people, but not the poorest citizens. Also, studies show that the removal of subsidy will help save money that can be invested in refineries and infrastructures. This will create jobs for the average Nigerians.

@@hassanelaouali2653 the poorest citizens benefit from subsidy because they board public/commercial transport which enjoy subsidy. Government can reduce the salary of Assemblymen- legislators. Fight frauds in oils and gas industries. Our oils was subsidy when Nigeria built warri and port Harcourt refineries. Why all this cries about subsidy removal? Obasanjo and Jonathan removed/slashed oils subsidy. They neither build refineries nor repair former refineries. With all huge loans from Chinese and whitemen, Nigeria leaders can build or repair refineries. If they removed the subsidy, most of the money will be use to service loans. Our leaders will steal some of it and Nigeria will remain in the same condition. Dubai and Saudi Arabia are oil producing countries and their citizens benefit from it. Most of their leaders care about their citizens and countries.

I celebrated your dethronement because that throne was actually holding African Gem hostage. Africa needs you now. You need to put heads together and form an advisory body that will serve the interest of Africa's economy. I am talking of a Body that will not receive funding from outside Africa.

Well spent time watching Emir Sanusi. Very insighful speech braced with logic and actionable points. Only wish we have leaders with both moral and political will to implement such obvious recommendations from an intelligent mind.

Loved this talk. Great insights from Sanusi on importance of revenue to gdp % and many other gems. Sanusi misspoke when he said 80% of US energy comes from coal. In 2019 coal was less than 25%. It’s fossil fuels as a whole which is 80% of US energy consumption.

It is very easy to see now where the command to dethrone Sanusi came from. Not from the governor ,a low level servant of colonial powers. Not even from Buhari, another puppet of the powers that be. But from the same old colonial powers Nigerians were supposed to have gained independent from in 1960. They fear people like Sanusi whose clearly that the STRUCTURAL ORGANISATION of power to change the economic fate of the masses has not changed one bit from the colonial days.

Why AFDB organized its event in South Korea? We need to always organize event in Africa instead of travel to south Korea or Dubai, wasting our foriegn exchange. Korea or Dubai doesn't come to Africa just to organize event in Africa unless marketing their products or investment.

His Excellency Sunusi is unmatched. I hope incoming President Tinubu really taps from him and we milk him all out, so this knowledge can be replicated in the we the younger generations. Wait, why is the Annual Meeting of the AfDB taking place outside of Africa? Was there no available conference center in any of the African countries that are both beneficiary and member states? Of course South Korea is a donor member state but it becomes difficult to accept that the AfDB is committed to African Development when proceeds that could come from hosting AfDB conferences to sectors such as tourism are redirected to other regions. Though this is is easy to look over it is in these small steps that we can make the big changes. Even if it means only holding these conferences in the African states that have the requisite infrastructure to host such large and high-profile events.

He was by far the best central bank governor that Nigeria ever had since its establishment. He controlled inflation rate, stopped banks from collapsing by introducing ne measures for running commercial banks; and prosecuted bank CEOs who stole depositors money and invested the money in real estate in dubai, Usa etc. He also exposed the corruption in the oil sector when he found out that more than $20billion had not been remitted into the treasury. Nigerian political group is a barbaric gang. A group that has, a Buhari a Ganduje, a Tinubu, an Oshiomole, an Okorocha, an Abba Kyari and all other fools in the gang, are like hunters as opposed to farmers which good leaders are supposed to be. Hunters kill anything that comes their way to eat, they are destructive and unproductive. While farmers plant and cultivate anything that comes their way to multiply the society. Nigerian political gang is hunter gang a killer gang. This is why a Sanusi Lamido Sanusi becomes a pray they have to kill.
