Sobre “Afetos” - Dois mov(e)mentos para flauta solo
Quando os dois temas surgiram, a primeira ideia para o nome foi “Semeando afetos”. Logo depois achei que o título não seria adequado e desconsiderei a ideia inicial. Duas semanas mais tarde fui visitar uma exposição em Belo Horizonte (MG) com o título “NISE - A Revolução pelo Afeto”. Uma belíssima homenagem à cientista Nise da Silveira, uma mulher genial que através de sua sensibilidade, competência e extrema habilidade para lidar com o ser humano, soube reposicionar o entendimento da loucura na história da humanidade por meio de ferramentas artísticas, revolucionando tudo pelo afeto.
Lá, entre tantas coisas que vi e senti, me emocionei muito quando deparei com um texto intitulado “Cartas a Spinoza”: “[...] O afeto, para Spinoza, do verbo ‘afetar’ é aquilo que nos move, que toca, que mexe com a pessoa, com sua alma. Esses afetos podem ser de qualquer natureza e são únicos em cada um de nós; existem no espaço da nossa subjetividade. [...]”
Imediatamente lembrei-me do título que desconsiderei, pois o que acabava de ler ia ao encontro daquilo que senti, que me moveu a criar os dois mov(e)mentos. Foi um momento duplamente impactante: me emocionar com o trabalho e a dedicação de Nise da Silveira, e refletir sobre o afeto. Assim, reconsiderei o título inicial optando apenas por “Afetos”, presumindo que estes poderiam ser semeados pelos sopros de cada um daqueles que possam vir a tocá-los, de forma única, no espaço das suas respectivas subjetividades.
A ideia que tenho para estes dois afetos - Prelúdio e Capricho - é que eles sejam tocados na sequência, pois embora contrastantes são complementares. O primeiro (Esperanza), introspectivo, místico, fervoroso; o segundo (Catavento), flutuante como o vento, imaginoso.
Por fim, creio que somente experimentando será possível perceber se estes afetos, semeados pelos sopros, poderão ou não promover mov(e)mentos para que possam, de alguma forma, tocar, mexer com as pessoas, com suas almas, como nos legou Nise.

About “Afetos” - Two mov(e)ments for solo flute
When the two themes were born, the first idea for the title was “Sowing affections”. Soon after that I thought the title would not be suitable and discarded the initial idea. Two weeks later I visited an exhibition in Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais / Brazil) with the title “NISE - A Revolution by Affection”. A beautiful tribute to the scientist Nise da Silveira, a brilliant woman who, through her sensitivity, competence and extreme capacity to deal with human beings, knew how to reposition the understanding of madness in the history of humanity through artistic tools, revolutionising everything through affection.
There, among so many things I saw and felt, I was very moved when I came across a text entitled “Letters to Spinoza”: “[...] Affection, for Spinoza, from the verb ‘to affect’ is that which moves us, which touches, which moves the person, his soul. These affections can be of any nature and are unique to each one of us; they exist in the space of our subjectivity. [...]”
I immediately remembered the title which I dismissed, because what I had just read was coinciding with what I felt, which moved me to create the two mov(e)ments. It was a doubly powerful moment: to be moved by the work, the dedication of Nise da Silveira, and to reflect on affection. Thus, I reconsidered the initial title, opting for “Affections” only, presuming that these could be sown by the blowing of each of those who might come to play them, in a unique way, in the space of their respective subjectivities.
The idea I have for these two affections - Prelude and Caprice - is that they should be played in sequence, because although contrasting they are complementary. The first (Esperanza), introspective, mystical, fervent; the second (Catavento) [Wind Vane], floating like the wind, imaginative.
Finally, I believe that only by experimenting will it be possible to perceive whether or not these affections, sown by the blowing, can promote mov(e)ments so that, in some way, they touch and move people, their souls, as Nise’s legacy to us.
