Hi Jennifer! "Affect" is a verb, isn't it? "Effect" is a noun, isn't it? Other examples: 1) The crux of the matter is that it will affect the outcome. 2) Modern farming methods can have an adverse effect on the environment. 3) The heat wave affects everyone in the area, as a result, it may cause water shortage as a side effect.

Dear Jeniffer, could you please explain the phrase "this channel is dedicated to helping you sound ..." Why did you use the gerund "helping" instead of just saying infinitive "to help"? Can we use both in such a case? Thank you very much for help.

That's an interesting question! You have to use the gerund form, it would be grammatically incorrect (and sound really bad) to say "dedicated to help...". The reason here is because the expression is "to be dedicated to + something/+doing something". Notice, the "to" belongs with "dedicated to". The "to" is not connected to the verb that comes next. We need a gerund after "to" because we use gerunds after prepositions ;) Hope that helps!
