Seeing you come on and comment actually broke my heart. The sad part is I love your videos and your content is on point with what I need to learn. Oh and your voice is soothing. I think we just take things for granted. 😞

Greetings from Stourbridge. Keep going while you enjoy doing it, I share your frustration at the low numbers but I certainly get a lot out of your productive output. Cheers DC

Certainly is quite frustrating at times. Shouldn't let it bug me but sometimes it does ! When I notice a similar video gets 100K views and mine gets 10 views, it does hurt - guess the same for many a youtuber !

Very interesting video, there are so many settings and so much to learn, it’s good to see how to use them. Then I have to think about how I could use them in designs etc (still learning how to think creatively) it would be good to give us some ideas, although the first thing that came to mind with the contoured circles, was creating a vinyl disc design. Like to watch your videos, always keen to learn what I can about Affinity as I love using the programs, and lots of time to craft now since retiring 😊

Yes, the contour designs can definitely be used for vinyl designs. I agree, don't always put too many suggestions on what they can be used for afterwards, a struggle for me as well - I guess depends on a particular project. Retired myself (other than working at my local gym and doing these odd videos)

@ a fellow retiree, lol - I love being retired 😁. You should advertise your skills and do one to one teaching, if I found someone local that done that, I'd def book, taking me ages to teach myself 😂. Keep up the good work, your videos are very informative

@ I doubt if I have time for one to one teaching, though a great suggestion. I guess with the internet, can be done easy enough all around the world - thanks for that. Perhaps something to do with the hours outside of youtube editing, working out at the gym, choir etc !

Your tutorials remind me of a famous book by a certain Stevenson: Treasure Island

Looking good A. I learn a lot from your videos but sometimes they use a lot of power to implement on my computer. But anyhow very nice! Looking forward to the next one. A

Interesting thought about that, something I had not considered. I must admit, I generally only work with smallish files (2000 x 2000 etc) and hopefully most of the functionality will work with those even on a fairly basic machine. Some of the processes can be slow if you work with larger files, I know my machine (M1 mac) can really crawl when using a big file size with some of the Affinity features. The shapes ones should, I would assume, have the least impact though. Anyway, hope they are still of interest.

@@Graphicxtras1 Yes to get to know the techniques to remember them I can set up a lower resolution went setting up my documents.

@@andrewphillips342 Yes, something I often don't do or even mention. I have used the resolution to create many unusual designs as well

I always watch your videos as long as it is Affinity Photo or Designer related I don't have a Apple I have a PC so I cant use some of the software you show unless it is PC as well but you are my top 5 for Affinity Tutorials and if I was to give a opinion it would be to change your user interface Ui to Dark in settings because the Light sometimes hurts my eyes I deal with it because I love your videos but on mine and all things that can have dark I always go with dark theme. If you prefer Light that is fine just not my cup of tea that's all. As for your Videos like I said I learn and even save them to a play list for me to come back to at a later time when I want to try new things in my art so another words keep up the great work and your passion and ill keep watching! thanks :)

thank you, I have changed my interface to the darker mode, must admit, never a thought for me and I have always gone more for the lighter. Luckily most apps are mac and pc and most cases beyond the odd, CMD for CTRL etc (which often confuses me) they are the same in most of their actions. I don't think I have too many Mac only apps other than Pixelmator and Motion. I wish Affinity was a cross platform app in that you could download both platforms (doesn't seem to be a feature) as I could also just then do the tutorials on the PC as well, though I use the mac a lot more now Glad you like the videos

Are the illustrations you have hanging on the wall behind you made in Affinity Photo/Designer? Make a video showing them to us - it's just a suggestion - I like watching your videos because the way you use the different features is always very interesting and out of the box. I am a loyal customer of your videos - same for the book reviews - Keep them coming.

Those illustrations are my Mum's old paintings, she did those back in the 50s and I thought it would be great to bring them out of their old boxes. Thanks for your thoughts about these videos as well as the book ones !
