If I understand the questions correctly, yes, you can color the text box separate from the text, see this video which talks about the fill and borders of the text boxes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmGbd6GLebZ6qbssi=Y8wa9A01HUGNdK5A As for space, in the same Text Box panel that is discussed in that video is a setting for Insets. This will move your text away from the edges of the text box in a single or multiple directions.

Thank you - this is very helpful. I have question about text alignment from line to line. I have a Heading that is "2. Space Cowboy - Featuring Mica Becerro" in a Text Frame box. Due to space constraints I can't expand the box, so this heading breaks into two lines, with "Becerro" on the second line. But Becerro is aligned under the number "2." and I'd like it to left align under the world "Space" so the "B" in Becerro is directly under the "S" in Space. I've tried adding spaces between the first and last names, but nothing happens. In MS Word, I would just move the indent for the second line, but I'm not seeing that function in AP2. What would you advise? Thanks so much, John

Yay I found it! You just hold down the Alt Key and then you can add spaces with the space bar. Amazing.

I'm looking for the 'answer' how to not have white around the text. not the text itself, the 'space' around the text. I had it transparent so when I had the text over a color rectangle, it was transparent around the text. Somehow in the working with the project, now it's not showing the color around those sentences.
