Pretty good lens for a good price, great place to start for film beginners as well!

Great channel! I’m very interested in this lens and your video helped but what’s your thoughts on it after having for awhile? Do you find it noticeably different look than photo lens? Do you still use it a lot, etc? I think silky smooth is the asthetic I'm after in it. The part of your video where you try the lens on yourself at T1.05 very nicely blurs background, etc but it's how smooth/silky it looks across entire frame...

Yeah I do use it a lot. After a while its started to gather some jitter, and play between the housings, but I do use it alot so I attribute the wear to me hauling around a lot and using it as a photo lens as well. Check the recent documentary I did on my channel, I used this lens for the majority of the video. I will def be picking up other focal lengths and using it even more.

Hey! Does the autofocus from the camera (xh2s) would still work although the Cine lens doesn’t have AF? Or would I have to manually focus ?
@MilesChatterji2 жыл бұрын
No, most all cine and anamorphic lenses are manual focus and the focus can only be adjusted manually. There are some new rokinon lenses that have AF but I havent used any. There is also some new emergences in DJI's lidar AF system that turns MF into AF but at this time it only works with certain DJI equipment.

I just purchased the same camera + lens combo. I’m having no luck mounting the lens though. It’s definitely the FX mount on the 7artisans lens. Did you have any issues mounting by chance?
@MilesChatterji Жыл бұрын
No, mine works just like a native mount. Is it your first fuji? They lenses dont line up with the mount on top like other cameras they line up about 45 degrees to the left. Also sometimes on third party mounts the alignment indicator isnt in the right place play with it a bit and see. Otherwise maybe send it back for another one. Might be a lemon.

Miles, u can help me with some doubts? Men, I have a Sony a6500, and my work it's mostly weddings and sometimes I shoot institutional. I really need another camera and I was thinking about x-h2s. Buuuuut, I just don't have the cash for change all my setup all in once, buying new HDs/SSDs, CF express, SDs v90... With time, I can purchase these things... So... I can shoot with this camera some 4k 24 or 1080p 120 at less than 200mbps? Even less then 150mbps? On this way, I can merge the new camera with my pre existing setup. And with time, upgrading my setup to explore all of this camera can offer.

Sorry for this long doubt, but I just don't found anything on it, and I like yours videos and felt that I can ask it for you

You can shoot at 200mpbs and 100mpbs as long as you stick with LongGOP in H264 or H265. All other formats/codecs (All-I, pro res, etc.) have a minimum of 360mpbs. If you shoot in LOG then you will have a better time matching the 2 camera colors, however it will require basic color grading or the use of LUTs, or a color space transform. If you dont use LOG the color in the video between the 2 will not look the same. For that low of a bitrate in video your existing SD cards should work fine in the X-H2s all the way up to 360mpbs for H265, and H265 codecs as long as they are v60. v30 should be fine to 200mpbs but might struggle to go higher. I hope this helps, feel free to ask more questions if you need to !

25 or 35 for one main lens?
@MilesChatterji2 жыл бұрын
That depends on what you are shooting with. If you have MFT or APSC they will be slighty different. I chose 35 since I like shooting at the 50mm length. If you have MFT then this will be more around 70mm so I would suggest a 25. But it all depends what it is your shooting. I do mostly stuff outside with occasional studio or venue so I have a little room to move if the 35 ends up being too zoomed I can take a few steps back to widen it. If you dont have room to move much I would suggest 25 so you can always get it a little closer to the subject.

Will you also experiment with anamorphic lenses?? BTW if you could choose again, would you go for XH2S or XH2?
@MilesChatterji2 жыл бұрын
I will when I can afford it, and they manufacture the focal lengths I want to use for anamorphic projects. I would choose H2s I prefer lower resolutions, file sizes are smaller and most people will never notice. Photos still look great, and are a bit easier to advanced edit (like remove things) Open gate video is something that I like better, and makes anamorphic footage look great. I also like the stacked sensor so you dont get ibis wobbles, or weird rolling shutter effects on straight lines. So I would choose H2s.
