I put touch-up paint in the small squeeze applicator bottles so every time a wall or door gets nicked or scratched, it's an easy fix. Their $1.25 buckets come in handy for all sorts of things too.

I also get popsicle sticks, waxed paper (for under gluing situations), scotch pads (for buffing), window cleaner (for diamond sharpeners), and a metal pan that I use for cleaning parts or quenching hot metal items. Great suggestions!

I agree with the wax paper. I've compared the cost per square foot to all the stores and it's cheaper at the dollar store. I also buy are freshener, clip on style for my heat pump fins. Tools are okay depending on what you use it for. For example a dollar store long nose pliers works great for holding a wire while soldering it. You don't need strong, accurate aligned jaws just to hold a wire or pick up something in a tight place.

My kids eat those fruit cups in their lunch. they ALWAYS bring them home so I clean them and use them to mix a bit of paint, glue and epoxy. I have tons of them and the cost- nothing!! A lot of good camping items there too!

@@tedbryer2512 Lol!!! I do that, too! Great for a small qty of epoxy, or anything two-part. Mixing stain for a one-off repair or color match. Wood glue dries and pops right out.

They also sell shower curtains for $1.25. Terrible for a shower but a great drop cloth. Another good buy was a big calculator cheap enough to risk drilling a hole in it so I could hang it somewhere handy. (I know my phone has one but sometimes a stand alone one is easier than trying to remember numbers as I switch between apps.) They also have pregnancy tests. That one’s not a recommendation, I just thought it was hilarious.

* In the kitchen section they have silicone basting brushes These are great for spreading glue because the glue doesn't stick to them. * Small cutting mat * Craft sticks for stirring and spreading (and shims) * Drinking straws, for scooping glue squeeze-out in tight spaces Sometimes you don't want to waste the quality consumables on quick and dirty projects: * Cheap paint brushes * Cheap sandpaper

Came here to mention the small cutting mat. I do balsa model airplanes and leatherwork, there are many things at the dollar stores that are very useful for hobbies. Another tip, if you need wood boxes for storing small items, visit a cigar store. My local store sells the empty boxes for $2.

On occasion I find foam sanding blocks in a grey plastic holder. I toss the sanding block when done and refill the holder. I got three...one for coarse, medium and fine grit foam blocks. Also...if you look, you can sometimes find quarter-sheet sized sandpaper in a variety of grits. Yeah, I know. Cheap sandpaper sucks. So does tearing the corner off a sheet that costs more than the variety pack! If you get a use out of a sheet, toss it! Grab another! I get waxed paper, parchment paper, plastic wrap and aluminum foil at the $ store. Why spend supermarket prices for something you'll use once a month...at most? The $ store paint brushes are just fine for paints and outdoor stains. Wouldn't grab one to float the third coat of lacquer, but would use them to paint shop furniture/fixtures. The craft brushes are weak, but ten to a pack and you can add a dot of red paint, then toss the brush. Walk down the craft aisle. Just look at all the cool stuff. Think on how you could use some of that stuff. Think out of the box.

Hey brother, its sad i even have to give this piece of advice, but being that most people’s attention spans & basic common sense seem to be all but nonexistent these days, if you dont want tons of people messaging you or repeatedly commenting, either asking whether you were talking about Dollar Tree, Dollar General or Family Dollar..or angrily writing you because they went to the wrong store (even tho you literally showed the front of a DOLLAR TREE in the frickin thumbnail) it’s better, when talking about Dollar Tree, specifically, to not call it “the dollar store”, because most folks (at least those with room temp IQs, which seems to be too damn many lol) automatically associate that name with Dollar General Or Family Dollar…moreso DG…Tellin ya from experience lol. But if that kinda crap doesnt bother ya, then i’d continue to do it, purposely lol…just to piss off the mouth breathers that dont have the common sense to see you at a Dollar Tree in the damn thumbnail and know that thats obviously where you were talking about 😂
