I’m very late in watching this one as it’s March 9th. So worth watching however late! A brilliant idea showing the 2 looks on each of your eyes. It shows just how much you can do from one very affordable palette and two very different looks as well. Thank you Caroline, you are delightful to watch.

Both looks are fabulous, one for day time and one for night. Must try and get my hands on that elf palette...the size is perfect as well for hoofing about! Thanks Caroline, have a great week. :)

Hi Caroline, While I appreciate your apologies about the noise re your boiler, I actually enjoyed listening to it because it makes you so normal and makes you seem so much more accessible. We all have these issues but some you tube influencers and such make us feel as though their life is perfect and consequently, we are inadequate. Love you and your channel so very much. By the way, please work on your mother to join you in a tutorial, assuming she is well enough. As a 62 year old wannabe 45, I would really appreciate your advice.xxx

Hi Caroline, another great video 😀. I have been following you for nearly a year. I discovered you as since turning 50 I found that my eye make up did not sit right anymore and was looking for tips on how to apply makeup to older skin and achieve a dewy look too. I have made lots of great discoveries via you, but one problem still persists, I always end up with panda eyes shortly after applying my eye make up. I feel I’ve tried everything to eliminate this, but so far without success. I don’t know if it is because I have particularly oily eyelids, but I always powder well before applying, lately using Beauty Pie One Powder Wonder. I have my nieces wedding coming up in May and wondered if there is any chance on a video on how to combat oily eyelids and how to ensure my eye makeup will sit perfectly for a day. Many thanks in anticipation 😊

Hi Caroline 😃 thanks for yet another fantastic video 👍🏼👍🏼 I love you are so honest and not just praise the extremely expensive brands but also show us how to do with the brands that most influencers just wont comment on 😄 I bought By Terry Hydrapowder, and I use it every day on my eyelids, on top of a primer, but I think it all works better with that hyaloruronic powder 🤗 I also use By Terry Hydrapowder under my eyes on top of the concealer. Makes the concealer last all day without settling into lines.

I'm going to try Elf. However I just don't understand the smokey eye look. My eyes are hooded and I thought dark shades recede so you have to put a dark shade on the hood to minimise this. But you say that look is dated. Or have I got this very wrong 🙈
@samanthacatterwell64164 жыл бұрын
Hi Caroline. Both eyes look great but the silver side really makes your eye pop. Just wondering on your thoughts about setting your eyelids with powder versus leaving the base wet? Many KZbinrs now have a wet base, pack on the colour then blend. Is this something that is taught on beauty courses now or something that KZbin and instagram gurus have made up themselves? I still prefer to set with powder, as I find I can’t blend very well when I leave the lid without. Also if you use a eye primer, are you suppose to leave wet or powder? Sorry for all the questions just curious on your thoughts as a well established and famous Makeup artist. Much love! ❤️💖❤️xxxx
@gillianwills90494 жыл бұрын
If you use an eye primer, you aren't meant to set it... People who use concealer as an eyeshadow base tend to set it as it's moist and grabs too much.. that alone tells you, we shouldn't be using concealer as an eyeshadow base! xXx

Gillian Wills Thank you for explaining that to me. 👍xxx

I have learnt something...2 different eyeshadow techniques. As I try to disguise my hooded eyes by darkening the eye socket...but end up looking too overdone :( Now i know that cannot be done with every colour..
@gwenloughman37754 жыл бұрын
Love how the make up gives your eyes different colours - the pewter shade makes your eye colour look almost navy. I find the priming mascaras difficult to wear - are there tiny fibres in them? Whenever I try them, it always feels like there's dust or a trapped eyelash in my eye. Very uncomfortable.
@lisac80824 жыл бұрын
What do you do when you already have deep sockets? And then dark circles to match.🤦🏼♀️
@SpeedBeautybyCarolineBarnes4 жыл бұрын

@Rye_Toast4 жыл бұрын
This palette reminds me of an affordable version of what would happen if Marc Jacobs and Natasha Denona Mini Palettes had a baby. I see in the comments someone asked how to avoid panda eyes, if you could toss a tip into that video on how to avoid eyes like a shar pei dog I'd love it! I've all but given up on powder shadows because I apply them to my lids and somehow I suddenly have lid wrinkles and it drives me batty! Before powder shadow - no wrinkles, powder shadow - instant wrinkles. What is going on?!

What is worse for the environment is our constant buy buy buy. How many of us need that eyeshadow palette? I have drawers full of unnecessary make up (amongst other things)and am now trying to be more mindful of what I buy and of using up my old stuff. Foundation too dark? Mix with my too light one or with moisturiser for a tinted moisturiser. Too light? Use under eyes to highlight.. Lipsticks not quite right tone? Often great as a blusher or mix with something else to give the right colour.
