Wonderful to hear!!! I personally think it gives you the look of a Hamilton khaki at a fraction of the cost....Hamilton is something I would love to own one day, but the higher price point keeps me from pulling the trigger. What strap did you get? The nylon mine came on is ok, but not the greatest either

I got a Scout from my girl for my bday about 8 months ago,then I went to Fiji for 6 months. I wore it everyday in an office setting and the watch was great fir four months. Then, the Indiglo light stopped working. Changed the battery and it still didnt work. Bummer,cuz I really needed that feature. And when I changed the battery, I noticed the back case around the edge of the back was eaten away! What the hell! Never saw anything like it: pitted and not just roughed up but the metal starting to eat away. Was it the insect repellent I was using for the Fiji mozzies?(mosquitoes) When I got back in the US, I called Timex and the guy I. got sent me info on how to rectify the situation(get a replacement). I read the info and I gotta go thru such a hassle sending it in,getting it approved…waiting forever,and in the end, I gotta PAY TIMEX for the hassle and shipping!!! Skru that! That Scout “looked” cool was totally sucked,in my experience. I’m getting another watch somewhere but it wont be a Scout and it wont be a Timex! x,D
@MirrlyonTime Жыл бұрын
That’s a real bummer, the low lead brass will definitely do that but shouldn’t only be after 4 months. That is a real hassle for sure! I wash whatever watch I’m wearing every day when done to get the oils and whatever else from my wrist and hands is on there, a must to do for the llb watches like Timex, thanks for the update

I just bought the blue face and red second hand. Don't like the face and wish I had gotten yours. My second hand hardly ever hits any indices but I like the one second sweep which my other watches do not have. Some have had problems with the stem breaking off. Guess I can at least replace the band though the nylon one is comfortable. Indiglo is the only uncomplainable I have.

That Hamilton is mechanical…I missed the others you referenced but I’m guessing some were also mechanical… they’re more expensive because of that.. the one you reviewed here is a quartz movement.. I just got the Timex Expedition North Field Post Mechanical 38mm Eco-Friendly Leather Strap Watch in white dial. You kinda can’t compare the mechanicals with quartz.. they’re different and they’re more expensive because of what goes into making them. This 38 mechanical I got also has a sapphire crystal which costs more of course..My next purchase will be a Timex like this one with quartz/Indiglo..

Hey there, cool classic timex. I am also looking for a small field watch (preferably 39 mm or less). And i do see where you're coming from with saying that stylistically field watches are somewhat similar to pilot watches. In my opinion, apart from the slightly different dial design on fliegers, the major difference is the size with field watches being usually under 40mm. In terms of slightly more expensive options, i'd suggest checking out Marathon and Smiths watches. Although in some sense if you get close to the 500usd mark it's kind of hard to not just go for a Hamilton.
@AnCar883 жыл бұрын
Oh and also Boldr watches. Forgot about that.
@MirrlyonTime3 жыл бұрын
Hey Andrei. Yeah, this timex is a 40 mm, I am not a huge fan of 38mm, 40 for me is min size I would wear, but for the look and feel, 60 dollars Canadian you can’t go wrong! I can’t see myself getting a field watch like a Hamilton when I can have the look on a timex (and they are good watches IMO) for much much less, and indiglo! Ha, can’t beat that indiglo! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
@AnCar883 жыл бұрын
@@MirrlyonTime I also have a Timex, the fairfield chrono if i remember correctly, but nowadays i tend to be much more interested in mechanical watches. In the super budget range you're spot on with that Seiko SNZG. I often find myself debating whether i should pick up the smaller variant, the SNK809, but i do have other field-type autos and the 7S26 movement feels a bit too old for a 120+ euro watch. By the way, can't remember if you mentioned this, but how large are your wrists? Mine are about 7.75 in and i have no issue wearing 38 and 39mms. But of course that is just a preference thing in the end.
@MirrlyonTime3 жыл бұрын
@@AnCar88 7.5 to 7.75 inch wrist so I say 7.5.....I have a nice seiko 5 entry level Automatic I got for 100 bucks (Canadian), and it’s a 38 mm watch. Nice watch, I don’t mind 38, but I would choose 40 over 38 any day, but yeah it’s just preference. 45 would likely be the most I would go

@@AnCar88 oh and I originally bought that chrono timex you have from Joma shop, good deal on it, came to me busted though. The time wouldn’t work. Chronograph did, but the 60 Second complication that runs the watch was stuck at 15 seconds and wouldn’t budge. Had to return it.
