Yes, that 1.5" latex layer addition to a basic coir+foam mattress is a marketing ideology behind Hybrid mattresses to bloat the price. Pure Latex mattresses are the best but cost a lot more. In Hybrid mattresses, that ultrathin :D layer of latex might only be good for reducing heat but does not really affect the nature of the 6-8" thick layer of underlying memory foam/foam or coir mattress. While the Hybrid mattresses are definitely not for Orthopedic support. (Pure Latex ones are though) Ortho-mattresses are usually firm to medium hard.

Ah that wasn’t the intention. It’s more affordable than a full latex one that goes upwards of 2-3x the price!
