I've owned this camcorder since 2012. Used it for graduation ceremonies, other big events and even converted into a webcam in 2020(although I needed to buy a separate microphone to work) and it did everything I ever wanted with the quality you described. Thank you for the excellent video!

@@tunkunrunk That stinks. Hopefully you've found some substitutes shortly after.

5:47 looks like it has clean HDMI output that is good for live streaming or zoom meeting

Yes, paired with HDMI capture, this camera is much better than a webcam!

I have this camera, and love using it still.

I have a similar Panasonic camcorder from roughly that era, HDC-TM700. It seems like that tier of consumer grade camcorders by Panasonic from that time all punch above their weight. I still use mine and it looks awesome, even recording internally.

I believe yours has a 3CCD style sensor and offers 1080p, definitely a step up from the one I review here! And checking Ebay completed listings, your cam has held it's value well! Very nice. Thanks for your input.

Interesting video, the built in mic isn't bad!

It's certainly better than the built in audio on the action cam you recently reviewed! If I had some sound dampening in my "studio", it would help cut down on the kitchen reverb.

I reccently bought myself a Panasonic HC-V270 for 50€/50$, because i want to film memorys without being on the Phone all the time. I love the OIS and the 90 times zoom (60 times optical). I dont care if its just "Full HD" . I also got a Sony alpha 6400, but i just use it for photography, since it has only lens stabilization. The footage on my alpha 6400 is better quality of course, but a camcorder is just so easy to use. Flip it open and start recording without changing settings.

You can improve image quality further by using better denterlacing algorithms (stuff like QTGMC)

Hi I just found your channel. I have this camera in your video. What is the name of the power cord to charge the batteries. I seem to be having a problem finding one. If I knew what the cord was called maybe I could find one. And I Sub Thanks

Thank you for this video! Can you use a microphone somehow for this camcorder?
@ThriftyAV3 жыл бұрын
This camcorder does not have the option for an external microphone. I have used an external recorder with this camera, but it involves a little work. 1. Record with both the internal microphone on the camera and a separate recording device (phone, voice recorder, etc). 2. Load both the camcorder footage and separate audio recording into your edit software. 3. Syncronize the two audio sources. Some edit software can do auto-sync. 4. Replace the camera audio with your externally recorded audio.

Any idea how to change the format of this camera from NTSC to Pal? I can reach the service menu (by selecting record option, pressing Wide angle, and Menu button) but the options are blank. Other Panasonic cameras do it, but would appreciate any help with this model.
@DoubleMonoLR Жыл бұрын
PAL/NTSC only applies to standard definition video, which I'm not sure if this camera supports (as it supports HD) Albeit if it has a composite analog output, you should be able to set PAL/NTSC there. Either way, the manual should be online.

Hi, I'm a millenial/gen-z who was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to have tred out digital camcorders, tape camcorders, and film movie cameras- everything from wind-up junk that boomers used to impulse-order off the Sears catalog (that's what they called Amazon in 1971) to a bolex with a parfocal reflex zoom. I don't know what the crusty old Japanese corporate execs think of people like me- but if one thing is for certain, I don't want a hyper-optimized zoom-dildo full of "Scene Intelligent AI Backlit Fruit Bowl in front of Night Cityscape" modes. If anything, I want to identify and catalog people who want and request such features so that they can be genocided. The typical consumer digital camcorder was the least fun to use and offered the least creative freedom, offering nothing but pixels and convenience- which I somewhat value, but least among all features. It was hard to say if I was using the camera or fighting it. The old tape camcorder was more fun to use, since _some_ access to important were somewhat accessible via external controls, so I didn't have to menu-dive. The viewfinder was practical and useful too, helping conserve battery and allowing me to shoot from a truly first-person view. Night vision was also fun. It was a sad reminder of the basic and obvious controls that are now locked away and reserved for "professional" camcorders. The most fun of all were the movie cameras. I had full access to all the variables _that actually mattered,_ and I felt creatively free. I didn't mind at all that there was no autofocus or image stabilization or any AI scene modes or a printer connection. The camera really felt like an extension of the eye, and I say that fully aware of how pretentious that sounds because it is true- but you know what the sad part is? Now there is really no good video camera, nothing that can adequately compare to even your grandpappy's midrange Super 8. You can pay many hundreds to relieve a few major pain points here and there, but even after shelling out thousands you only end up with a janky heap of nonsense that's far too fragile and expensive to "switch on and film." The *"Bellami HD-1"* and Philip Bloom's *"digital Bolex project"* are literally the only video cameras that even remotely stand out as desirable to me, but I don't want them enough to pay a thousand or ten for them. A lot of my age group peers straight up can't even if they wanted to). Gen-Z will shoot photos and videos on midrange smartphones, and imaging companies will shrink as they struggle to find people willing to pay for their crummy profitmaxx plastic garbage products, designed for rich suckers or people with the intelligence of a wilted vegetable. But from us? No sale. Too bad for Canonysonic, too bad for us. We just want the same deal our dads and granddads got. That's all.
